Peterborough (Hampton)

There is no air con so we all had a bad night sleep, the ashtrays outside were full to the brim with cigarette ends and empty cups and wine bottles. Worst premier inn i have stayed in

Hotel is well located, rooms are larger than I expected and staff were all really friendly and helpful. It was really hot when we visited and there is no air conditioning in the rooms but the staff had provided sheets, fans and cold water bottles to help us be more comfortable.

Placed on the second floor which was fine with us until we opened the room door and were hit with the heat . The wall temp gauge said 31, the window opens only a few inches for so called safety , there was however a fan . We went out for the evening and came back at 1pm - the room was still 29.5 despite being 16 outside . The window did not let the air exchange and the fan just moved ihot air about . Needless to say we had an awful night . It wasn’t even in the 30’s outside that day . This is not acceptable - there’s not a lot that can be done unless you are pre warned, if the windows opened enough it would have been fine but they won’t take the locks off as it is for safety - what a world we live in . It would certainly be unsuitable if a young couple had a baby or there were elderly people in the room. Breakfast service and food was pretty good , the guy at reception didn’t book our table even though he asked what time we wanted when we paid. This caused a bit of a problem as it was very busy with public bookings. The staff sorted it though and were helpful .

Arrived at this PM on the direct A15 to Peterborough and no matter which way your traveling on the A1 (North or South), it takes you straight to the roundabout you want. The hotel was a typical PM with a straight forward booking in and we were only staying for the night,. The room was clean and tidy, as was the bathroom. A good selection of TV channels for those who stay in - why: its summer time get out and about. The room was like an oven, even with the window open, but a fan was supplied. Of course you can't blame the hotel for the hot weather, simple really. The PM is central to the shopping area with a Tesco and Mac Donald's all close by. The centre of Peterborough is a good 2 miles (plus) walking from the hotel, so think twice before thinking of doing it - we should have done as it was extremely hot. A good hotel, in a good location with good and helpful staff - what more do you want. Bon Journey

Hotel felt very run down and needs refurbishing. My room was boiling hot the fan wasn’t working properly so I spent a very uncomfortable night. The TV also didn’t work and why for one person was there three made up beds in my room? As always the bed was very comfortable and the shower excellent. The bar area was not great the outside area was filthy and no tables had been cleared. Overall having stayed at Hampton before this was a very poor example.

As you’d expect from a premier inn, quite a few places to eat nearby. Dropped a point as the car park needs some attention. Pot holes and ridiculous sized speed bumps.

As a wheelchair user, in my opinion, Premier Inn is the best hotel chain for wheelchair accessibility. Very spacious bathrooms and a comfortable bed at the perfect height for easy transfer to and from my wheelchair
