Wonderful stay - we enjoyed the lap pool better, less people.

We came for a wedding and wanted a place to stay that was higher class and it was.

Went for new years. Nothing for teens to do.

First....The staff at this resort are top notch. EVERY staff member my family interacted with was friendly, professional and helpful. We spent most of the three days of our stay at the pool and the staff was fantastic. This place does a great job selecting quality employees. My family has utilized this resort many times to get together. It has always been a beautiful place to reuinte. The back court yard has stunning views, the gym facilty is large with quality equipment, the pool is large, clean and fun for all ages. The rooms are always very nice and clean. This trip was not the experience we usually have. The hotel was under construction, so the entire outside courtyard was closed down and being remodled. The front of the building was being painted and plastic was taped to the silding doors and balconies. One of the nice things about the rooms at this hotel is that they all have balconies. We enjoy having outdoor access especially in the evening. The room we had however had the sliding door completely taped off with plastic so not only could we not use the balcony but we could not see out. I understand that maintenance needs to occur but a heads up upon making reservations would be nice. The AC in the room was horrible. You could set it down as low as it would go and it would not cool off. When we open the door from the hallway into the room you could feel a significant temp difference even after having it on for hours while we were out. The toilet was not working properly and had to call maintenance twice. We also saw two cockroaches in the restroom over our stay. While not a complaint, as these hotels are prime places for conferences, the hotel needs to find a better area for all the badged and name tagged folk to discuss he future of AI. The lobby area became very congested and difficult to walk through. Also, when the conference was out for the day the line for the elevators was backed up into the lobby. With the outdoor courtyard closed the lounge/bar area became VERY crowded in the evening due to the conference crowd. With all the tipsy folks crammed into such a small area I could not even hear my own tipsy conversations with my wife and had ended up leaving. We used the gym facilities one morning but upon arrival the next morning it was closed down and under construction. We were all pretty disappointed in the stay this time. While the construction is temporary and conferences occur, it would be nice to have a head up upon making reservations so we can adjust plans. The room was not great. Cockroaches, crappy AC and poor plumbing does not make for a great stay. Again, staff was fantastic but our family will be looking for alternative resort in the Scottsdale area for our get togethers.

We booked a resort view room and the "view" was of the roof and air conditioning unit. When we opened the blinds, there was a big "Balcony closed" sign and couldn't even step out on our balcony. Not sure what was going on with the paint in the room. Looks like they had "touched up" the paint, but was poorly done. I felt like I was in a Motel 6, not a beautiful resort. We had asked when we checked in for our room to be made up by noon as we had work to do and needed the room available. They said that it would be no problem, they would put it on the schedule, but by 3:30 it still hadn't been made up so we finally had to ask the front desk to get it taken care of. The food at the Waltz & Weiser was consistently served lukewarm, sometimes even cold. Cold chicken wings are not pleasant! The service was slow. It took us 1 1/2 hours to have one drink and a meal for dinner. The time we went was not a busy dinner hour time so I'm not sure why it was so slow. I didn't see many servers so I wonder if they were just understaffed. This is not our first time at the Westin and for the price you pay for a room here, I expect to be able to step out on our balcony and not have a patchwork paint job and have hot food at the restaurant. It was a very disappointing time.

We stayed at the Westin Villas as timeshare owners and came to the Resort for dinner, lazy river and relaxing here also. I have gone on your site and looked at other sites for your resort and no where did I read that the hotel was UNDER CONSTRUCTION! When you enter the hotel the glass view to the expansive golf course is covered with cloudy plastic so you don’t see the construction and I understand that. BUT, it must be disclosed to guest, even in the restaurant you can’t see out. Now I saw the new drawings to install a huge covered outdoor bar and entertainment area and that will be beautiful when it’s done. It appears to be bigger than the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess. Since I’m only coming here off and on for a week it’s not effecting me as much. I hope to come back in the future when it’s all done.

The beds and pillows are so comfy here! We love the pool and lazy river too! Beautiful property. Thank you especially to Lucas for treating us like family and always making our stays special ! We will continue to come back and also stay at Marriott hotels worldwide.

We decided to try The Westin Kierland for the first time and boy are we glad we did. I feel like their favorite words are "sure" and "no problem" and "there is no charge for that". We ended up having to change the dates of our stay by a couple days and Marcie who helped me book my package, pick a great room & reserve a couple pool chairs said "no problem" and switched it. She was amazing. We got a late flight change and asked if we could stay past check out..."sure". We asked if we could cancel our pool chairs for the last day of our reservation, sure "there is no charge for that". The gentleman who worked around the adult pool giving waters was great. He was there so fast if our waters ran out. We loved that we didn't have to reserve chairs by the adult pool. All around a great resort. I dont expect a yes every time but it was shocking how happy they are to please guests.

What a great stay in the villas of this fabulous resort! Antonio was very accommodating in getting me the villa I preferred. The staff are very polite and efficient. A big shout out to Barry, the night clerk, who thoroughly provided information and special attention with first-rate professionalism. If you have an opportunity to stay here, by all means do it!

This hotel is the perfect location to enjoy Scottsdale. 2 beautiful open malls within walking distance with shops, restaurants, cinema, all covered in shady palms. Hotel Pools, lazy river, grounds are beautifully kept. Staff are excellent, friendly, helpful and professional. We have stayed in this hotel 14 times, always in June, for hot , dry weather. Don’t be put off by the high temperatures, the humidity is very low. The hotel is geared up for UV sun protection, shade and water everywhere. A wonderful place to visit.

Used our Bonvoy upgrade to a casita. Was beautiful. Fridge and microwave, balcony, fireplace. Was the closest to the pool slide and lazy river. Had some fun activities at the pool (bingo, water balloon baseball). The lobby has two tanks with two snakes in them! I HATE snakes, but I felt bad for them and the tanks were sooo small.

My review is specifically on the adventure pool area. The pool area was mediocre. The lazy river was only 3.5 feet deep which makes it hard to float with feet in if you’re over 5 foot tall. The pool area isn’t very big or deep. The slide is short and slow so only fun if your kids are 5 and under. The surfing is extra. Like a lot extra!!! It didn’t state on their site you had to pay to utilize that area so we had disappointed kids when I didn’t plan on spending a few hundred extra. Lots of good seating options which was great. Friendly staff. The food is pricey and you basically serve yourself (pick it up at the bar), but we still tipped. The worst part of the whole stay was the amount of trash. Trash everywhere!! Which is disrespectful of the Guests, but the report has to stay on top of it. The lazy river was full of trash so you’d be floating and touched by a piece of trash floating by. I’d recommend this resort only if you can find a really good deal.
