Well, as you have asked -
Arrived about 7.40 in the dark at the ‘old’entrance on Mistletoe Lane to see sign pointing to Reception but after parking car and removing suitcase, couldn’t find reception - dark, poorly lit area
Returned to front door, to find paper sign pointing to Reception - but I’ve already looked!! Where is it? Used door phone which was answered by Restaurant who explained reception was now further down and past the carpark. Back to car, with suitcase, drove about 75+ metres past small area of parkland and found more cars parked.
Eventually found the restaurant - The Mill? (had seen from the road but had no knowledge that there was any connection with Estate Tuscany)
Waitress pointed me in direction of reception - which was closed despite email saying Open until 21.00 - that’s 9 pm!
Dialled number, spoke to person, who advised me of room number. “How do I find that room.” Had a totally unedifying conversation as the person I was speaking to had no idea where I was despite me saying I am opposite the restaurant, across a small lawn with pond/urn in the centre. (Much later realised they thought I was still at the “old entrance”)
Went back to restaurant where male employee knew exactly what I was talking about, gave me my key and escorted me to my room!
Room just okay, bathroom could do with a good clean (including behind the door and around taps, cold tap missing the C button); curtain at main window hanging off one of the hooks- I’m not tall enough to hook it up again! Realised in the morning, the balcony was unlocked (arrived in the dark, so didn’t open curtains.)
Bedside lights!! Both had dimmer switches, but inappropriate bulbs, so one continually flickered. The other worked by turning on at the plug, until I wanted to turn it off when dimming the light right down caused flickering again, so turned off at the plug and climbed into bed in the dark.
Could make coffee, but couldn’t tear the teabag sachet open! (I don’t carry scissors with me)
General comment - adequate, could do better, exterior lighting and signage woeful.
