As a regular visitor to Prague I have always stayed in or around the Old Town Square or Lesser Town. On this occasion I decided to stay in Zizkov for a change of scenery and particularly as the Hotel rates are quite competitive. I chose Hotel Prokop Square based on the reviews and I was not disappointed. Situated on the lower end of Zizkov, it's just across the road from the Karlin underpass and Vitkov Hill and is convenient for all the bars and restaurants in the area. It's also about a 15 minute walk from the Zizkov TV tower which features the David Cerny crawling babies sculptures. The hotel is handy for the tram stops at Lipanska and Viktoria Zizkov, while the nearest Metro station is Flora underneath the Flora shopping mall and Cinema City. The Hotel staff are friendly and professional and my room was spotlessly clean and attended to daily. The breakfast is excellent with plenty of variety. Fresh fruit, cereals, pastries, yogurt, toast and of course a cooked option of bacon and eggs, some mornings they also had potatoe wedges. Tea, coffee, fresh milk and juices are also available and a honey pot if you like to add a taste of honey to your cereal. I don't often stay in the same Hotel twice but I will stay here again on my next visit to Prague in the first half of next year. Totally recommended and thank you to all the staff for making my staff comfortable.
The place was basic, reception staff were nice, however, noise throughout the night coming from the corridor was not pleasant. In terms of cleanliness, the place was riddled with bed bugs, since returning I have been covered in bites. I do not recommend.
Was worried about the reviews before arriving but was pleasantly surprised by a fantastic hotel! I went with 2 friends at start of November and was very happy with our accomodation. The staff were friendly, room was massive, location was fine, and beds were comfy. DONT BELIEVE THE BAD REVIEWS, this place was GREAT!
PPetr PohlRoom was clean, not much lit. Missing free outlet, or outlet near bed. Only free outlets were one in the enterance room and one in the bathroom.
There was a gap under the front door with light from the yard under the door.
Internet wi-fi was not fast (down 12 / up 11 Mbit) but stable. TV was showing only 10 german, 2 czech and 1 russian channel.
No instant coffee bags, but there was electric cattle, free tee bags (2 fruit, 2 black) and sugar bags.
Water taps in the sink and shower are separated, and it takes some time to set required temperature.
Not sure if the ladder radiator in the bathroom was working properly when turned on to maximum.
Tiles in the entrence and bathroom were cold.
Breakfast was delicios and with wide choice.
The hotel is well maintained, rooms have an ok size, really clean, bathroom have an ok size too, beds are comfortable not that far away from the train station, breakfast have many options and staff overall are friendly, I recommend this hotel if you need a good place for sleep don’t expect any luxuries
ゲゲストStayed for 5 nights recently. Pros: Alena and Veronika at reception are super kind and always happy to help. These 2 superstars could work at any hotel in the world. You are so lucky to have them. Good strong, consistent wifi Fridge, microwave, and kettle in room. Housekeeping brought me a room fan when requested. Thank you! Nice firm, comfy bed and pillow. Great sleep! Excellent value in an increasingly expensive city Decent breakfast buffet. The ladies (and gentleman) working the buffet are also very friendly & very hardworking. Please thank and appreciate them. They are wonderful! Easy commute to the main tourist areas via tram right outside the door. Awesome park and running trails minutes away (National Memorial). Really good kebab and pizza shops right across the street and large grocery store at the end of the block. Cons: Very tiny room and bathroom and the building is very dated. I don’t recommend a basic single room like I had if you’re a large person like me, as it felt a bit cramped and claustrophobic. The room was actually smaller than my hotels in Tokyo. A bit of noise from other guests when they are in the hallway. I recommend earplugs if you are a sensitive sleeper. Kettle in room was super dirty inside and needs to be thoroughly cleaned. I didn’t realize this until after boiling water & drinking a few cups of coffee. Hope I don’t get sick. So gross! :(
