Wow, nothing like being in the center of what's happening. I watched a concert and street faire with traditional dancers from my hotel window! Great restuarants across the street;with the Pablo Nerudo Museum around the corner. If you want a taste of Chilean culture, the hotel is ground zero for all kinds of cultural experiences. Plus the hotel is old style Chile, unlike the steel and glass hotels downtown. This is artistic Chile at its best. Castillo Rojo staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is tasty. They upgraded me to a suite looking onto the square. A bit noisy on Saturday nights as the bars close at 3AM and the beat of the music can be felt until then even with the windows shut.
