カウ ロッジ(Kau Lodge)

Very nice cozy room. It happened to be a great location for our Torres del Paine tour, as we were the last to be picked up in the morning and the first to be dropped off in the afternoon. The staff was especially polite and helpful. It looks like they are repainting the exterior, which must take a beating from the wind and rain.

Quite by chance we found this place as we were looking for somewhere to eat in Puerto natales and this place was well situated on the waterfront and was easy to park just in front. The interior is really cosy and has a great view. And the food was delicious and all freshly prepared on the premises. The burger was one of the best I’ve had in ages and the Serrano ham and cheese baguette was great too , The apple pie was lovely too. The staff were really lovely and friendly and good coffee. A very pleasant surprise and definitely worth a visit when in Puerto Natales.

We stayed 1 night at Kau lodge as we transitioned from Patagonia to Chiloé during our travels. We arrived on a rainy Wednesday evening, and to our surprise their cafe is closed weekly on Wednesdays. Their location is not too far from the Plaza de Armas, which has many restaurants and shops near by. The staff was friendly and went out of their way to accomodate an early breakfast for us the next day. Our room was plenty of space for two, and we had an amazing view out to the gulf. Overall exactly what we needed to catch some rest before a full day of travel. One downside for any light sleepers out there is rooms with a view could be a bit noisy from the Avenida Pedro Montt traffic.

A great cafe and location makes this a wonderful place to stay in Puerto Natales. The hotel has a cafe serving very good food (especially the deserts), beer, and coffee with views over the nearby gulf. A very enjoyable part of our trip was hanging out in the cafe with a coffee or beer. The buno bed rooms where we stayed are well laid out, with adequate accommodations for luggage and coats. We found the staff helpful, including their extended effort of getting the heaters set correctly. Some of the staff spoke english better than others, but it was generally not a problem. Breakfast in the cafe was another highlight, including the breakfast bags available for those leaving early, before breakfast. We appreciated the extended 5-day luggage storage while backpacked Torres Del Paine.

The Kau Lodge is a great place to stay. Right kn the ocean, an awesome cafe and outdoors shop on the first floor and the staff is super accompdating to your needs. They ordered us a taxi transfer to the airport, let us store our bags when we did the W trek and we even checked in really late at night and someone was there to help us. The included breakfast was medicore and the rooms a tad small but everything was cozy and comfy and its super close to downtown and other restaurants.

Good coffee in a hipster café Part of Spacio Kau Lodge, Café Coffeemaker is an establishment located in the waterfront of Puerto Natales. The café offers coffees, drinks, breakfast & lunch and the menu is adopted to young European and North American travellers. A hipster atmosphere and good coffee & lunch dishes define its character. On a weekday in November we spotted Spacio Kau Coffeemaker and went for a coffee. The place was busy, but not overpacked. We went for cappuccino and pastries. The coffee was good and the pastries were OK. Staff is friendly and service is adequate. Café Spacio Kau Coffeemaker is fine for anyone who seeks a good coffee.

Superb flat white, cappuccino and hot chocolate (they have a huge selection of hot chocolates by the way). The food is filling, delicious and mainly healthy; there’s also plenty of vegetarian options. They offer fresh pineapple and raspberry juices too. Wifi works impeccably, and they have outlets for charging your computer if you’re there to do some work. On top of this the staff is enthusiastic and friendly!

Each room at Kau lodge has spectacular views of snow clad mountain ranges just across the bay, while still being a close walk to all of the restaurants in the village. The clean rooms with comfortable beds capture that feel of Chilean zen with light colored wood and white painted walls. The staff are extremely helpful. The breakfast is excellent. The wifi is strong. While we could hear cars on the street, especially during the day, and some sound from the coffee shop below, it was less than we hear living downtown in a city. As usual, the trusty earplugs plugs handled the issue. Some of the up-scale lodges are a bit of a distance from the village and guests would probably benefit from having a rental car to avoid feeling isolated.

Llegamos a las 11 de la mañana con la intencion de tomar desayuno en la terraza ya que el dia estaba precioso La terraza,incluso arriba de las mesas estaba lleno de bicicletas ,no habia ningun espacio disponible por las 20-30 bicicletas que cubrian todo el lugar .Me acerqué al personal para pedir ayuda o un tipo de solucion para hacernos un espacio y su disposición y respuesta fueron muy negativas y con muy mal trato “no hay nada q podamos hacer y como las bicicletas no son tuyas no las puedes mover” para no seguir con el conflicto accedí a no sentarme en la terraza pero q queria un cafe .Aca viene la peor parte e inaceptable .me dijeron q si queria el cafe tenia q esperar 50 min ,osea practicamente me echaron Pedi hablar con un supervisor y me dijeron q no estaba y q la misma persona q habia sido la del mal trato hacia mi era la encargada en ese momento.Catalina Esto fue el 12 de abril a las 1100 am aprox Les deberia dar verguenza el trato q le dan a los clientes,no pierdan el tiempo y no vayan a este PÉSIMO cafe
