Melia Puerto Vallarta

Food wasn't great except the mahi mahi meal at the fish house was top notch. Breakfast at mole and tacos was very good. Check in and check out was a wonderful experience. Nice upgrades given to us for purchasing through ******* were great.

Staff was friendly, attentive for our room requests such as extra towels and pillows. Air conditioning in our room was a bit of a hit or miss. They need to add more a la carte options for dinner. Taco & mole wasn’t great for us, and we didn’t even try fish house because our kids aren’t fan of dead food. The buffet was great variety and choice for breakfast and most dinners. Would request more guacamole and pico de galo for every meal at the buffet. Feedback - bacon was inedible almost all days, hard and overlooked, everything else from omelets to tacos to sushi etc was wonderful. Wait staff at the pool was great. Pablo at the pool bar is the best bartender they have, always friendly and ready to help create a new drink. Nightly shows were a bit of a bore for us.. however the magic show, pirate show and the mix night were our children’s favourites. The activities staff works hard during the day and keeps things fun. Overall our family of 5 had a lovely vacation.

Overall, it was a nice stay. Staff were professional, friendly and quickly fixed concerns. The light over the shower was out but was fixed quickly. Had to request a coffee pot. Then had to request they bring coffee. It turned out that the coffee pot they brought was broken so had to request another one. When room was cleaned, they took the washcloths but didn't replace them, so we had to call and get some brought. Had to request they bring water bottles a couple of times. Staff fixed issues promptly. Could do a better job in housekeeping. They moped the floors but didn't sweep them first so just made mud streaks on the floor.

If you have any dietary restrictions, this is not the place for you. The food in general wasn’t great—especially the buffet. Nothing is really labelled with “what it is”, let alone “gluten, vegan, dairy, etc”. That being said, the staff are very friendly which was greatly appreciated. The rooms are okay and the pool is nice. We won’t come again but definitely made the best of it and made some fun family memories.

This resort was so easy with a family with diverse needs. Our daughter has a wheelchair and it was so easy to get around. They also accommodated our request to have our 2 rooms close together and they were very close to the lobby. The rooms are basic but clean and we paid for the cheapest rooms and still had beautiful views of the water features. The staff is exceptional. I have been to many all inclusive and this is the happiest staff I have encountered. I think Melia is doing something right for their staff!. Our room was cleaned every day. We read a lot of reviews that complained about the wifi they gave us the code at check in and no issues. One buffet but the food is good for buffet food, loved the pasta bar and the chicken wings! Snack bar is available and is by the pool and awesome for pool days. The 2 a la cartes are ok but we did not repeat any of them. Lobby bar is happening in the evening with DJ music, singers and sports. The shows are good, my favorite the comedy show and the guy who did it was so funny! They have a mini show for kids every night. The pool is very clean and large. There are plenty of chairs but do head down early to get the best spots. Beach not swimmable for kids but very pretty and clean. Totally would recommend for families that want a relaxing easy trip. Budget friendly and awesome!

Staff excellent, food was basic not much to choose for smaller kids at the dinner time. Last night of our trip we were eating at Fish house ( very good fish restaurant) noticed one person was choking, quite scary situation, but must say the reaction from staff members was very professional and very quick they did all right things to help one lady, and saved her life! They immediately call lifeguard on site and paramedics, everything happens so quickly, for this reason they deserve 6 star ! I felt very safe in this resort. Thank you Melia! I stayed in 1418 room, the view was amazing! I had a big room with 2 washrooms, that was very nice surprise for us excellent with 17 & 7 years old kids. It’s around 10 min to the airport with taxi. Around US $10.

The reception Eigo had a wonderful customer service and Guadalupe from reception too everyone there had a really good customer service

The beach and Ocean was lovely. They seemed short staffed. Many times when eating we would be almost done by the time our drinks arrived. Only 1 bar tender at pool bar also. Maids cleaned room promptly. The restaurant only1 buffet was always lined up. As long as you got there early good selection, but if you waited it was limited options.

They have an amazing and friendly staff, but beds are old and uncomfortable and the pool is super cold. Beach is small but perfect. Food is good and I would definitely recommend it, but I hope they change the pool temperature.
