The staff was amazing they fo above and beyond to make sure you have a great stay.Property was very clean lots on activities The food was great

The beach and resort setup was really nice but the food, service, and cleanliness was lacking significantly.

Very good resort everything is close by walking distance and staff were all very polite

The service is very bad, unprofessional, extremely lacking. Never a 5 star services, you dont get even to 1 star. You are the only hotel chain in which you can only use the buffet, pool and beach zone of the hotel you are staying in. In the rest of the world even if the hotels are more distant you can use the services of all all inclusive hotels in the same area. We had a dinner reservation at Mikado. We were invited in 45 min after our reservation time. They tried to seat 14 people in a table for 12, resulting in people eating on top of others, no personal space. When we expressed our discomfort about it the lady in charge of seating customers, said she had lots of people waiting, got upset, through her tablet against the floor and left the room. At the buffet the waiters ignore you. You get your coffee when you are donde with breakfast. Waiters forget your drink orders at the specialty restaurants. There was a roach at the mill stand at the buffet. And the treatment to customers is in general dismissive and disrespectful.

The property was well kept. Beach was gorgeous.Rooms dated but ok.. Only hot water in the sink. Limited bottled water in the room. Buffet was disappointing...same almost every day. Found it difficult to communicate with staff in English. Mostly Spanish spoken staff. Overall not worth the money paid for a week's stay. I would rate it as a 3 star , and not a luxury hotel......guests should have been notified a few weeks before their stay that the hotel was closing for renovation from April 15th of 2023 and the services etc would be limited, so they could have the choice of booking at Bahai other resorts. I hope to visit again once the Esmerlda is renovated.

You need transportation to go everywhere and even though there are adjoining properties you are limited to staying and using only the facilities at Esmeralda. This was very unpleasant as the walk before each property was very long Very few staff spoke English. Our room was next to the storage room for the staff and everyday that the cleaned we had dirt and debris at our door and one time there was a crib for 2 days and we don't have a baby. There was no staff transportation and the walk from our property to the exit is about 2 miles and the staff had to do that everyday.

We had only a 2 night stay here. Overall it was ok. I was expecting better. First the bad. The rooms and accommodation is dated. A/C is arctic cold no matter what temp you set. Too many mosquitos around the resort at night. Coming from another resort where there were none so its a point to highlight. Lastly the restaurant reservation system is silly. Upon check in a la carte restaurants we booked out for the whole week at all restaurants at the time slots you want. So you better either pre book if poss or you will be stuck at the buffet which is mediocre at best and the servers there are not very attentive at all. The positives now, the pool and waterpark are great. water temp is perfect for a day of lounging around and play with the kids. The beach is ok. Very large and crowded with a bit more sea**** than I'd like but overall its pretty nice. Lots of watersports to do on the beach too. The beachside buffet is def the better of the 2. And I like how you can use and visit the other resorts which are neighbouring this one (with some exceptions). There is shuttle service between them all. Overall it was fine but def room for improvement.

I don’t know if it was because they where closing for renovation that the service was not good at all staff where not that friendly and the food wasn’t great at all

Everything was excellent, except beaches were loaded with see ****, that was not removed efficiently enough.
