Arrecife Punta Uva

We spent three unforgettable days at the property, which turned out to be the highlight of our Costa Rica trip. All staff was amazing and attentive. Eric, one of the owners, welcomed us with genuine warmth—it’s a family-run business and he is very passionate about this place and the nature. He even showed us few sloths that live on the property. The food and drinks are reasonably priced! The Costa Rican casados dish—one of the best we’ve ever had. The combination of flavors and fresh ingredients left a lasting impression. In summary, our stay was magical, thanks to the welcoming staff, the sloths, and unforgettable casados!

I stumbled upon this great little restaurant on the beach. The staff are super friendly and speak multiple language’s. I had drinks and a light bite while here. The food was excellent but more importantly I felt welcome, looked after and happy while here. Pura Vida!

Incredible vibe unlike any other: If you appreciate the family-owned history (one family 40+ years) and have the right expectations, you’ll appreciate the Caribbean local vibe and beachfront to its fullest. Better than other inns and airbnbs yet not luxury, Arrecife is refreshing. Sunrise walks all the way down Punta Uva and back were my favorite. I stayed in the balcony room above the restaurant, which was air conditioned privacy. Journaling and yoga each morning in my own space was a spectacular treat. Bed and pillows were comfortable, bathroom was clean, water was warm with reasonable pressure (could be better). The staff were genuinely welcoming, kind and fun. Fall asleep to the sound of crashing waves. You will hear the music & people of the bar and squeaks and squeaks of local creatures, so it’s not peace and quiet here. I appreciated the pride of ownership and warmth of the people and the cleanliness and updating that was evident and ongoing. You’ll love how this is off the main road and as close to the sea as you can get! Best Hospitality, Gallo pinto and bartenders anywhere in this area! It’s where the locals gather to hang out with their “chosen family” and eat home cookin and watch futbol ⚽️ If you love escaping the “normal status quo hotel and resorts,” you will LOVE Arrecife 🤙🏻☀️🌴😎

Delicious food, very good location at the beach. Friendly staff. We will be back tonight again. Really good value for money. It took a while to get the food BUT it takes some time to grill red-snapper, the fish was worth waiting for. I can definitely recommend the restaurant.

El lugar es muy hermoso. Esta sobre la playa de Punta Uva y tiene algo muy encantador. La comida del restaurante super rica y mi esposa quedó encantada con el rice and beans con pescado frito y yo me comí uno con pollo en salsa caribeña y mañana vamos otra vez de fijo. Lo recomiendo.

Nos hospedamos una semana en este encantador hotel local frente al mar, y fue una experiencia inolvidable. No es un resort de lujo, pero lo compensa con creces con su calidez, autenticidad y atención al detalle. El personal es simplemente maravilloso: siempre atentos, amables y dispuestos a ayudar en todo momento (Felix, Ariel, Sabrina, Jacki, MJose, Lorenzo, chicos se pasaron). Las cabinas son sencillas pero cómodas, con aire acondicionado y todo lo necesario para una estancia agradable. Elegimos una con balcón y cocina, lo que nos permitió preparar nuestras propias comidas cuando lo deseábamos. Además, hay un restaurante justo al lado, a solo pasos del mar, ideal para disfrutar de la gastronomía local. Viajamos con nuestra hija de 6 años y pudimos combinar trabajo remoto con momentos de descanso en la playa, que está justo al frente. Las cabinas del primer piso son perfectas para adultos mayores o personas con movilidad reducida. Este lugar no es para quienes buscan un spa o lujos, sino para quienes desean vivir la experiencia local: bailes por la noche, gente linda, comida deliciosa, animales alrededor y paisajes naturales impresionantes. A solo 10 minutos caminando está la cueva de Punta Uva, y también visitamos reservas cercanas y una comunidad Bribri, donde aprendimos sobre su lenguaje, sus plantas de uso diario y cómo preparar chocolate desde la raíz hasta beberlo caliente. ¡Una experiencia mágica para nuestra hija! En resumen, si buscas conexión con la naturaleza, cultura local y un ambiente familiar y auténtico, este es el lugar ideal. ¡Volveríamos sin dudarlo!
