Birch Tree Cottage

We stayed at Birch Tree for a total of 9 nights on and off over a 3 week visit to family in SA. We cannot fault the friendliness, the service or the facilities. Although some updating is needed, everything is so clean and well cared for that it doesn’t impact. The staff couldn’t do enough to make us feel welcome and comfortable no matter the time of day or night. The property felt safe and secure.

The check-in process was quick and efficient. Esther, the receptionist was polite and knowledgeable. Just one notable omission, there was no physical security. The venue is located on a busy street physical guardian is essential.

Enjoyed my stay in the family suite, it was spacious and has all you need, the staff are super friendly and helpful. The only thing that needs attention is the furniture in the lounge area needs an update, it is old and some pieces are broken

Amazing place to stay with family, we enjoyed the cottage a lot, loved the uncapped wifi, tv system with netflix was a bonus for my daughter and being able to watch on my bedroom separately was great too. The cottage is quite cold in winter though especially the sitting area, a heater or air-con to warm it up for family to enjoy the room together. Breakfast can also improve a bit but not bad at all.

It is a lovely place to stay. The staff is super friendly and helpful. However I was disappointed that the room I stayed in was on the outside of the house. This meant, going and coming from breakfast, was done in the rain. The only working window was in the bathroom, and when the power outage striked, the generator was right outside my only open window and filled my room with diesel fumes. Needless to say, no sleeping was done until the generator was switched off and I could air our the room. Apart from that, I am sure the rooms in the rest of the house would have been just as lovely as mine.

We booked 2 nights stay for a visitor of ours. They were very happy with the accommodation and complimented the hospitality. Thank you for making their stay a pleasant experience. We will definitely use your services again!

Our experience of Birch Tree cottage can only be described as excellent in every way. From my first interaction with our Hostess/receptionist telephonically to our actual meeting of her when we arrived. The room was more than we could have hoped for and we spent a relaxed afternoon and evening there before going off to the nearby Mall for a bite to eat. We returned early to continue enjoying relaxing. The facilities also lend itself to a bit more of an active evening (braai, pool, etc) and we would love to return 1 day for a few days to take advantage of what is on offer.

From the word go, the service was excellent, the staff are well mannered, well spoken, friendly and very very helpful. Checking was so easy, the orientation for the property was well presented, and all was very well explained. Our room was clean, and fresh. BEST SERVICE EVER. Well done guys it was really good.

My cousins and I wanted to go for a weekend trip without the travel and we found that Birch Tree was a lovely destination with less than an hour drive from each of our homes. We had a good rest, Esther and her staff were wonderful hosts and the family unit served our needs very well. Wi-fi was also available which made it easier for our games and music streaming to go seamlessly. We truly enjoyed our stay
