The building is historically interesting. It is in need of updating. The beds were not very comfortable and mattress was not attached to the headboards so we’re very noisy. The bedding was clean as was the bathroom but the furniture and carpets needed cleaning. The view from the room was nice. This could be a lovely place to stay with some updating.

The man who runs this property shouldn’t be running anything remotely related to a business. I called him 4 times to let him know that we would be arriving very late as we’re driving from Toronto straight to his Inn. The first 2 times I called, he asked me to call him back later because he was busy. The 3rd time I called? He explained that self check-in was an option regardless of how late I arrived - he would leave a key out for us. The day of, I called again to let him know exact time of arrival and still he was fine with us arriving after midnight. Between traffic and rain, we arrived after 3am and there was no key to be found. Once we located him, he was yelling at us, saying we didn’t tell him we’d be late and he was not obligated to honour our booking. He told us to leave and go elsewhere at 4am in the middle of nowhere. My husband is a saint for being patient and kind to a man who was so miserable, he forgot to be human. I paid for the room before even going into it, and needless to say, left exactly at 10am to avoid any more interactions. Please book at your own risk because this man lacked basic human decency and respect. Pretty sure he’s 10 shades of sexist too with the way he spoke to a woman when he could have just politely told us to leave and not bother staying at his inn. As inconvenient as that would have been for us, at least he would have been respectful and kind. Waste of money staying at this place, will never ever recommend to even my worst enemy.

This property would be great if you would like a night at the museum. It was very antiquated, the bathroom added to the room we had, had a higher than 10” step and you had to step over the side of the shower to enter that. The description said there was a local cafe that is no longer there and the small grocery store and convince store both close at 6pm. My husband who is diabetic went without any form of sustenance for longer than he should have. The owner was exceptional in his willingness to share his knowledge of the area and for that we are thankful.

Take a step back in time and pause to let proprietor Donny Evans bring it to life for you! A truly peaceful unique place to stay.

I stayed overnight while traveling with my two sons (high school and college-aged), and they said "this is the best place we've ever stayed." My own view is that this place has what I fondly call 'character' that you rarely get to see any more. Don't expect some sterile, perfectly tidy franchise that wants the world to feel the same everywhere you go. This place is a beautiful facility that feels like a combination of a lodge in the Chronicles of Narnia and your favorite great uncle's bachelor pad. The life and local roots of the proprietor are on full display; many fun surprises await; my boys loved the pool table game room (with some classic games they hadn't seen anywhere else); the setting was quiet and peaceful. A magnificent surprise for our last minute reservation. If "urban sophistication" approximates a phrase that well describes the hotels where you like to stay, then this place will probably stretch your limits. If you abhor novelties, pass on this place. Those who enjoy unpretentious creative imagination will likely leave smiling. We'll be telling friends and family they should stay here if they're ever in the vicinity.

Very interesting historic hotel where the couple who run it have recreated the 60’s. There was s really good live band giving a 2 hour concert on Saturday evening. The basement is a recreated dry games bar stylised on the 60’s. Interesting art work on the walls everywhere but no TV in our room or coffee maker etc. Step back in time!

Vintage hotel with a unique history. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable and the management is attentive to guests. There is a short walk to the marina and amazing views of the bay, mountains and sunset. The hotel has been worn by its years and the sheer effort to maintain its size, but if you are a curious traveler open to an interesting experience to add to your trip, this is a great place to stay.

It was unique as there are no appliances or tv in rooms but are made available in another area if needed. It is clean, comfortable nicely decorated with antique decor and historical memorabilia of the Inn. The manager was very nice and welcoming.

The owner of the Inn is very friendly and knowledgeable of the history of the building and area. The room is kept very clean and the bed is comfortable. Enjoyed our stay.
