I can’t recommend this gorgeous little chateau and restaurant enough. I am a very picky traveller and appreciate places that are excellent quality and offering something different than cookie cutter hotels and the chateau did not disappoint. To begin with the grounds and hotel itself are stunning. Every day there was a gardener tending the gardens. The chateau itself is so beautiful and tucked away a short drive from a a small village set in the stunning countryside. They have done a fabulous job of mixing old with new and the decorating style is really fun and fresh. My room was large and tastefully decorated and nothing was too much trouble for the lovely ladies who work there. They honestly were so very kind. The pool was a welcome blessing given the heat and there is a cute bar right beside it. But the food deserves its own accolades. By far this was the best meal I had in two weeks away. The ingredients were incredibly fresh and the service impeccable. And very reasonably priced. All told I can’t recommend the Chateau des Ayes enough! Thank you for a lovely visit.

Two comunal showers and toilets no locks between ten people in rooms with ZERO facilities. Smelt bad of smoke. Terrible experience. Uneven steps and floors and smoke filled pillow i wouldnt let my dog sleep on. Hot no water no wardrobe and disgusting cobwebs everywhere.

Pretty chateau with gorgeous rooms and a great swimmingpool. Great breakfast and bar. Too bad vegetarian diner possibilities were almost non existant in spite of us asking for them in advance.

Excellent food, innovative decor, caring staff despite personnel shortage.

After a long days travelling the hotel was a great way to relax and unwind - very comfortable room and an excellant evening meal and breakfast . I was warmly welcomed and beautifully served .

Our booking was for the end of September. While we didn't expected summer crowds, we would have appreciated if we would have been informed of the almost total shut-down of the place. The restaurant was closed, the main house not to be visited and our room had a window open to the passage of guests from upper floors. The one remaining staff member was very nice but that didn't change the lousy room and lack of service. After the complicated access to the place, the back room accomodations and the dinner in the only open place in the area, a highway diner, we left the area with the worst impression of our summer in France!

The service is very bad. We have to seek/walk around the chateau for the bartender if we want to order another drink. The decoration of the room and restaurant is cheap. No chateau feeling!! The restaurant is closed during the week(?), only breakfast is nice.

Lors de mon passage entre amis au Château des Ayes, j’ai découvert une très bonne cuisine. Le plat que j’ai choisi était tres équilibré, avec des saveurs authentiques et des produits de qualité. Le service était impeccable. Je recommande vivement ce restaurant !
