We really enjoyed our stay here. Very reasonable pricing on ocean front charming room. Fascinating history of the hotel and area. The current owner is a lovely entrepreneur and willing to share stories of the renovations and challenges she as faced. In a short 30 minute walk you can see a fishing port owned by a local fisher's cooperative, multimillion dollar ocean front homes, a sculpture garden of African animals and gorgeous ocean front surf pounding on the rocks. The evening meal was delicious and, again, very reasonably priced. Can you tell we had a great time! We will return soon!

This is a jem in an beautiful New England town. Charming, elegant and Kimbery is an amazing host. Sunrise is the most beautiful I've seen overlooking the beautiful ocean. If you time it right, you could see whales off the shore. Must go! cute shops nearby.

Emerson Inn By the Sea is a lovely hotel. It was so lovely we did not want to leave. The view sitting on the front porch is stunning. The salt water pool is lovely. The location is great. Many of the rooms are small, but the space is well used. All of the staff from housekeeping, servers and front desk staff were very nice and helpful. The bar is great, and there is a piano player many nights. Also great game room down in the lowest level. The breakfast is wonderful! We ate dinner a couple of evenings at the Emerson Inn and the food was delicious. I would like to suggest that the menu include a couple of lighter options on the menu other than salads. There were many days we did not want to leave the Emerson for dinner, but were not hungry for a big dinner. Overall, the Emerson By The Sea is a gem. I look forward to staying there again.

This Inn was the perfect start to our drive up the New England coast. Our quaint room had everything we needed and we enjoyed dinner in the restaurant. Our breakfast the next morning was absolutely delicious! We enjoyed exploring the coast and walking along the coastal footpath. We highly recommend the Emerson Inn.

A quaint and well cared for inn. If you love the architecture of the past you’ll love the Emerson. We ended up having dinner in the “parlour bar” so we could enjoy the piano player. We had breakfast in the main dining room - it was a light continental breakfast but great - the French jazz cafe music made for a delightful breakfast experience. Overall a very nice vibe. I would go back.

The owners of this Inn clearly care deeply about it. The Inn had so many nice touches we appreciated—pool towels, breakfast, toiletries, robes, books to borrow, etc. We had a special getaway my fiancé & I. We had dinner at the good parlor. Breakfast was good too, maybe it could use more options but it was sufficient.

our stay was for 2 n - the staff not friendly & very inconvenient when we checked in & needed help with bags room on the 3rd floor - it was a big issue with the staff - no elevator & although ‘clean’ it was very damp inside the room & the ceiling was peeling Breakfast was terrible

Very nice when you drive up. Beautiful view. The younger staff and the Ukraine gal were outstanding. The lady with the gray hair, don’t know if she was staff or owner, was a bit condescending. She was too busy checking numbers upon check in and at breakfast. Breakfast is mediocre, one so called hot dish which consisted of a breaded ham and cheese sandwich prepared differently each day. Buffet style and they put out a specific amount for the morning, not cognizant that some guests go back for seconds, leaving NOTHING for the rest. Mosquitoes all over the food and juices. We won’t be back. Too expensive for what you get. For the $600+ a night, we expected better.
