I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at Cocotier Hotel from December 26 to 31, 23. My overall impression of the hotel was quite disappointing, and I feel compelled to share my experience. Upon arrival, there was a lack of introduction around the hotel premises, leaving me feeling uninformed about the available facilities. The room presented additional challenges with a leaking wash basin, low water pressure, and a bed formed by two single beds, creating an uncomfortable canal in the middle and they said they would give us our actual room which we paid for the day after and it didn't happened until 28th, already i couldnt settle myself in as it should cause i knew i had to move. To exacerbate matters, when I requested my initial room i booked for, i still had uncomfortable sleeping conditions, the new room had a malfunctioning AC. This issue forced me to seek yet another room (3rd now now) well past 23:00, disrupting my sleep in the high temperatures of Rodrigues. Despite my efforts to communicate these issues directly with the hotel manager, I received a disappointing response. Not only did they fail to reply to my emails promptly, but their proposed solution was merely a lunch – a gesture that fell short, especially considering the subpar quality of the hotel's food and so much inconvenience to us,trying to spend a peaceful time as couple to end the year on a good note. The lack of effective resolution and the overall condition of the hotel lead me to believe that Cocotier Hotel is in dire need of serious renovation. My stay was marred by inconveniences, and the time lost cannot be replaced. I strongly advise against choosing this hotel for your stay in Rodrigues. Sincerely, Divya Ghoorbin

My husband did a surprise birthday gift for me, at night the staff just brought the cake and left it on the table, our room was nice but no phone to call reception, no beach towels in the room, big spider in front of our room. Receptionist not professional, they did not ask how was your stay. Breakfast same everyday, there was no croissant available. But Rodrigues is just a beautiful country will come back but not at same hotel.

Most of the staff were not courteous. Very poor customer care. More or less same food in menu everyday. Most of the food is finished before time n not replenished. Towels for water pool is a big issue, never available. u r asked to come n fetch ur towel at the reception dripping from the pool.

This is our 6th trip to Rodrigues.We love Rodrigues for its calmess,pollution free island. This is our very first experience with Cocotiers hotel.We were there for 3 nights. I would very much appreciate it if this could be taken as a constructive critics. Personnally I this the hotel management should review the hospitality business for several reasons: 1- You have noone to welcome you or carry your luggage once you arrive at the door of the hotel 2.We had a very unclean room with the bathroom not cleaned and very smelly disgusting odor- Had to call for the maintenance to check the toilet. 3. The breakfast is very poor in choice and as for dinner we ate almost the same dishes the 3 nights we were there. The toilet near the restaurant is very dirty,smelly and .... A positive feedback will be the night show where the guy sang very well with live music and sega . I believe that since we pay for our stay we should be given value for money. I think the hotel management should view all these defects.

We were a family of 4. So we booked for 2 rooms. When we first got into our rooms its was smelling like `Doom spray`(Insects spray). When asked the lady she says they were having invasion of cockroach previously. We were shocked! Plus the bed sheets was disgusting,i could see dust everywhere, I dont even have words for the washroom. The maintenance guy was doing some repainting job into the next room so we couldnt rest since he was making loud noise. When we went to complaint about the room, I understood why the hotel are so bad. It was manage poorly by incompetent person. I could hear that lady screaming from her office(could be the manager not sure). `hEY IN DIR ZOT PAS SPRAY DOOM KAN CLIENTS VINI ET ARET PEINTURER . Lack of professionalism by the receptionist and the front manager. Maybe they need to go back to school because this is not rodrigues or mauritius hotel standard at all! PS: I want to congrats the people that are working at the bar & restaurant. They are extremely polite ATLEAST THEY BELONG TO WORK THERE.

I was there for a short trip. The Hotel is some way out of Port Mathurin and transport is required to get around. This hotel is not easily accessible for the disabled. There are many stairs or narrow walkways. The room was average and looks dated. The TV was not working properly. The bed was ok. Facilities are limited at the hotel, but satisfactory overall. The evening meal buffet was rather disappointing, however the entertainment was intense. The breakfast was average, but i did not like the long waits in a queue to be served. I did not have the time to swim, but the sea looked nice. Overall good for a short stay only.

Great hotel! Awesome and always ready to help staff, excellent food in terms of selection and taste, great location and beautiful rooms. This hotel has a cozy relaxed feel to it and the live entertainment offered was absolutely great. We can’t wait to stay here again.

A lot of the staff were really friendly and helpful, unfortunately the Manageress lied to us about needing our room for maintenance due to flooding, the hotel had clearly overbooked. The alternative accommodation offered was of a very poor standard. No apologies were given.

Positive: -Dinner was excellent(no porc and beef) -The house keeping and the front office ladies and the luggage man are very friendly and helpful -Nice and clean room infront of the pool. The view was amazing -Entertainment was nice but only on Saturday for the traditional Rodrigues dance and no dj after that. -Location is perfect. Minutes walk to Port Mathurin.. Negative: -Breakfast was repetitive and not much choices (same thing all 4 days) -We requested for ice as bucket to keep our bottle of champagne, we were told "ices cannot be provided as per management policy" First time we hear this in a hotel. -We requested for a birthday cake on the birth date and we were told that only a normal "maspin" can be provided and it's not complementary. -The beach towels were of very bad quality and had big holes in it. -No provision is made to adjust for baby food. We had to kind of insist to get food at 18h30 for the baby and the personnel seems upset with this request as the buffet opens at 19h p.m -There was only one baby high chair which was broken so we had to put the baby in her carrier during breakfast. -Several electricity cut during the day and night so you can't take your bath since the water pressure is low and no light. -Poor service from most of the personnal of the restaurant and barman. No smile, rude, and cold. -The bath cabin is not well designed. Water splits everywhere. Not fair towards the house keeping lady. -The room has a connecting door and we could hear everything from the neighbours room, even their snoring at night. -The pillows need to be replaced. They are used. Overall, nice hotel with good food, location and room. If the above can be improved l, the hotel would have been excellent especially it should be more baby friendly.
