ホテル ドン ハビエル(Hotel Don Javier)

We stayed in Granada for a whole week, booked a trip to Ronda and had a beautifull day in Ronda until our afternoon snack break. In Don Javier, the most of the staff is very rude and arogant, while the food is bad. We ordered a cold plate for 14€ and two beers. In the dish there was a letucce stem and the whole salad was full of dirt. The worst of all were the shrimps which smelled like they were old and when we tried them, they were uneateble. We pointed out appearance and smell to the staff but they were uninterested. Prices are too high for that kind of food and service. Save your money and time and stay away from Don Javier.

Last minute find visiting Ronda overnight from Albaicin Granada. Ideal location to see everything on foot central to all the places of interest and just yards from the icon New Bridge and Tajo. Reception staff hospitable and very helpful. Beautifully decorated room full of character and flavour of the region. Excellent en suite with hot showers and fluffy towels. Spotlessly clean everywhere and a choice of dining room or cafeteria both buzzing with atmosphere and the smell of delicious food. Highly recommend.

The hotel was clean, the beds were comfortable and we slept very well. The restaurant lets the whole experience down, dirty plates and awful food. The scrambled egg with mushrooms, prawn and Asparagus was probably the worst meal I have ever tasted. The beautiful building in the description of the hotel is not the actual hotel building. see photo below.

Seems like there’s plates and serving for locals and an other type of serving for tourists. Looking around local plates, looked much nicer and garnished, mine was poorly set up, fries were re-heated, lamb chops had nothing to eat in them. So I don’t recommend.

I must say we chose this hotel because it was ideally located in the center of Ronda by the bridge but we did not expect much. The very tiny reception area seemed to confirm our idea but we were up for a pleasant surprise. The upper floors and the rooms were much better than we anticipated, big, quaint and comfortable. Very nice.

Perfect location in a must-see town

Visited Ronda recently and we had no idea where to go to eat but came across this little jewel on the high street and thought we would give it a go. So glad we did the food was excellent - we ordered far too much, the starters are like a main meal thank goodness we had ordered them to share. We managed to polish them and our main courses off between the 4 of us. The staff were very friendly and efficient, would definitely recommend it for the 'olde worlde' atmosphere, great service and fabulous food - will go there again next time we are in the area.

Has a great locarion. Staff was very diligent, had everything you needed.
