Very unhelpful response when reported theft of €300 from room. No details taken and no one offered to take it seriously until bad review written on Google. Hotel now say have recorded theft but only on my account and have not asked for details about when money went missing so can ask staff on duty at time if they saw anything. Yes was safe in room but always hope small family Hotel does not have someone use key to enter room and steal something. These things do happen but it is the way hotels deal with such matters face to face that counts, hence this review. Hopefully they will take positive action to learn how to treat customers paying over €500 for 2 nights stay.

I went with a coach group. We had to park some distance away because the street was closed for the Christmas market, but I cannot complain about that. The hotel staff were polite in my minimalist dealings with them. They were great about providing gluten free breakfasts for me. The choice of breakfast foods was just about the best I've seen in 40 years of travelling. The hotel location is very central, and I had a good view of the church. The bells rang in a clanging, tuneless fashion at 6 every morning! The decor inside the hotel is traditional, with a duck theme. Ducks embroidered on the to the pillowcases, etc. It was clean, and warm enough, though my room was more compact than I'm used to. There was a private bar-room of sorts, but our group was advised to drink at a Scottish bar nearby as the room was too small for groups. I don't miss a bar, so that was ok for me. I'd have liked to try the hotel restaurant in the evening, as the menu looked good, but our group was expected to eat out. Maybe I will try coming back as a solo/couple traveller to see how the experience matches up. It's certainly a great base for sightseeing in the Rhineland. In summary, I'd be very happy to stay at the Hotel Trapp again

Pleasant rooms on the edge of the old town. Reception staff helpful and a decent breakfast. Electric fans were provided which helped given the very warm weather. Free umbrellas can be borrowed if it rains

The location of this hotel is perfect for walking around town. Just a few blocks to a central plaza and not more than 10 minutes down to the Rhine River. Far enough from the cruise ship crowds, yet close to everything. Our room was large and comfortable. We even had a small private patio that we enjoyed in the evening with a glass of wine. The parking lot is adjacent to the hotel making parking much easier than some other places we've stayed. The staff was nice, but certainly not overly welcoming. At breakfast and in the evening they seemed far more attentive to a large group staying at the hotel. We felt in the way and were hustled off to a corner table in the back room. It seemed everyone was frustrated the restroom near the restaurant/in the lobby was closed. The staff didn't seem to care about the inconvenience. Overall, the location makes up for any downsides and we'd stay again.

Petite déjeuner pas terrible, petites viennoiseries pas fraîches idem que les produits de grandes surfaces préemballés , pas de pains au chocolat, pain pas frais . sinon, grand choix de charcuterie, truite quelques yaourts, confiture, thé, café, chocolat chaud bien

Een goede en schone kamer, goed diner en lekkere wijn. Ook het ontbijt was lekker, alles prima! Gewoon wat je verwacht in Duitsland. Leuke omgeving, jammer dat we onze auto moesten parkeren op de openbare weg.
