I stayed for work under a corporate booking. It has most of what you need and the bed is comfortable, it is quiet and has free parking (which is unbelievably a luxury in hotels these days!) However, the cleanliness of the room was severely lacking. There was a smell of spilt beer, which had been masked with a very strong odour of some kind of air freshener that was over-powering. The upholstery on both of the chairs had horrible white drop stains on them. The floor looked like it hadn't been vacuumed. The bathroom floor was dirty and there were body hairs around the shower. I asked for an iron and ironing board and the ironing board was very stained so I had to use a pillow case to cover it to avoid marking my shirts. I didn't want to say anything about the issues as I was already stressed and really didn't want to deal with it. I waited a long time at reception upon arrival, despite ringing the bell. The staff member was apologetic, however, I wondered why there is only one member available on their own. After a long journey, I really wanted to use the loo and put my luggage away. Although I am thankful that I was allowed to check in around 20 mins early at least. I had dinner in the restaurant, I had 'linguine' which was really an insult to what linguine should be like. The sauce was horrible, tasted like a ready meal, the pasta was incredibly over cooked (linguine should be al dente, not soggy) and the prawns were in batter for some reason - although the waitress did warn me they would be in batter - strange nonetheless. Prawn linguine is very simple to achieve with very few ingredients and time, so it just doesn't make sense why it has to be so bad. The food repeated on me that night and the next day and I kept tasting that horrible sauce. It's not particularly cheap either, if I was paying and not claiming it back through work, I would have asked for a refund. One positive is that the morning breakfast waiting staff were excellent, very welcoming, friendly and helpful.
