This hotel has huge potential, but unfortunately it’s let down by the way it’s run. The location really is great. It’s an easy walk to the lifts, the setting is beautiful, and the village itself is quiet, with some excellent bars and restaurants. The building is also lovely - aesthetically, there’s nothing wrong with it at all. The problem is that the hotel doesn’t seem to understand its guests or its surroundings. In a quiet village, a 4-star hotel needs to get the basics right: good amenities (mostly there), decent food (nearly there), well-trained staff (hit and miss), and above all, good sleep. On that front, it completely fails. Music played far later than advertised. I’ve since seen responses saying it finishes by 6:30pm, but during our stay it went on until around 8pm. At about 7:30pm I politely asked if it could be turned down, as my sister was unwell and couldn’t sleep. The staff were apologetic and helpful and did turn it down, but the owner reacted aggressively and rudely, telling us to “call the police” and behaving in a way that felt completely out of place. I also saw him physically push another guest, which was genuinely shocking, and he was insisting on outdoor fires, which aren’t permitted in France due to pollution rules. It’s very strange behaviour for the owner of a 4-star hotel and created an uncomfortable atmosphere throughout our stay. This hotel might work better in somewhere like Val Thorens or Tignes, where people expect noise and a party vibe. In this village, it just doesn’t fit. It’s a real shame, because with better management this place could be excellent. As it stands, I won’t be staying here again next year.
