The exteriors and the pool are nice but the rooms are very old and the smell was very bad inside, i think maybe because the carpet looks also old and dirty. I had to change from the first room because of that and the second one wasn't much better. The breakfast is buffet but very basic with a few options so i just got it one day. The a/c very old and noisy during the night.

Gym and swimming pool was amazing however do expect that while the room was big, it was a bit old but I think they are upgrading in process. Located just behind holiday inn which made it easy for pick up/drop off and there’s food choices and a supermarket right outside which was good.

We had lots of ants in our studio hotel room and it just wasn’t very clean. Ants were in all over the bathroom, kitchen, coming out of outlets, on the table and sometimes on the bed. On top of that our curtains weren’t the same size and bright lights kept on coming through which didn’t make for a very dark sleeping room when we closed the curtains. Kitchen utensils in the studio were clearly dirty before we used them. Our hotel key kept on locking us out. Most of our transportation kept going through the holiday Inn so never directly to Irazú.. even though it was just next door and tell us pick up would be at Irazu.. it would change to Holiday Inn

The hotel was nice & clean. Only thing was finding it, we had to ask for help because google maps sent us to another location.

Service was dissapointing. Not very friendly frint desk staff. Rooms are not comfortable. Not clean amd bathroom smelled like mildew. We were supposed to receive a bottle of wine a gold members of membership but didnt receive anything.

Our experience at Irazu Hotel & Studios was positive. While locating the hotel initially proved a tad challenging, once we arrived, we found the check-in process to be seamless and hassle-free. The cleanliness of the facilities left a lasting impression. Though the beds were on the firmer side, they provided adequate support for a good night's rest. Additionally, the affordability of the accommodation was commendable, offering great value for the quality provided. Overall, despite minor inconveniences, including the initial difficulty in finding the hotel and the firmness of the beds, our stay at Irazu Hotel & Studios was marked by cleanliness, convenience, and affordability. It's a solid choice for travelers seeking comfort without breaking the bank.

I keep staying at VIP properties but never get upgraded. Is there a way to tell if I will be upgraded before booking?

There was NO hot water!!! This property was very run down. It previously was a Best Western and then Holiday Inn. It now shares the building and facilities (to some extent) with the Holiday Inn on site. It may cost a little more but you are best reserving a room at the Holiday Inn. The older building with rooms that face the pool and Holiday Inn rooms are now a different hotel (Irazu Hotel and Studios).

I really appreciated that there was a local market and Soda's within a 3 minute walk.
