great service and excellent location

The hotel was perfectly located for walking around all over Old San Juan. The place really has character, bringing out its historical setting while providing modern conveniences. The desk clerks were pleasant and helpful. Regrettably, like many facilities in recent years, daily housekeeping has been dropped, which is troubling in a place where toilet paper must be discarded in the wastebasket, rather than flushed. We left the placard on the doorknob, requesting maid service, but it had no effect. Regardless, the room was clean when we arrived.

This hotel was everything we wanted in our stay in Old San Juan. Our room (rm 11) was amazing!! It was clean, staff were amazing and within walking distance to everything! We will return!

Great location but we didn’t know where to park until we walked to the hotel. Our room was super tiny, the lighting was dim and we were right next to the front desk. I would have preferred a quieter location (very loud starting at 8 am) with a street view. Comfortable beds and clean.

Very noisy and the rooms are very small. No closet or space to place a suitcase or get organized. We were constantly awakened by people in the corridor or in the lounge area. Quiets hours are 10pm to 8 am but you hear people talking loudly on their cell phones or clanging around in the kitchen starting at before 6 am. They only have a 4 cup coffee pot so you are waiting for a cup of coffee if there is one person in front of you. Buy a normal sized coffee pot! Great location but don’t plan on getting any rest.

Overall, our stay was alright. Check in was a breeze, restaurants were super walkable, and the room itself was very clean. Felt very safe the whole time as well. Unfortunately, our room was right next to the entrance and no one enforced the quiet hours posted. Even the staff were being noisy and I had to ask them to quiet down so we could sleep. Even with that, the building itself is older and all tile making noises echo so anytime someone arrived or were chatting in the hall or lounge area, we could hear them clearly. Thankfully, I had a white noise app and we turned that all the way up and were able to drown out the noise.

Did not know when I booked that my room was across from the kitchen area or that the room was a couple of feet from the main door. Whenever someone entered or exited the front door I’d hear the door chime in my room at all hours.

We only stayed one night the place itself was perfect for what I expected. Beds could be more comfortable less creeky. And not very private as you can hear everyone in other rooms.

Fortaleza suites has superb location - right in the old town- walking distance to many restaurants, the fortress and waterfront. The building itself in need of renovation- the plumbing is outdated. The bed though not queen size more like double bed is comfortable. The check in process isn’t great- we had to stay on the street because there’s the code that wasn’t provided to us. We were able to walk in because other guests were exiting. Then we waited by the reception desk about 15 min to be checked in. But stuff is friendly and overall we had a good stay.
