ボルカーノ ゴールド ロフト(Volcano Gold Loft)

We stayed here for three nights in July 2022, and it was a terrible stay, and we found out the host STOLE our personal belongings. Day one: found the lockbox combo for the house key was such a ridiculously easy combination that we questioned the security of the place. Then we found a deadly venomous HUGE spider running around our bedroom - we were able to get it out ourselves, but it made us all very uncomfortable for the rest of our stay. We doubted some of the bed sheets had been cleaned - the place is generally FILTHY. Several of us got bit by fire ants that were all over the main area of the house, so we all had to wear shoes in the house throughout our stay. We found out there is no AC in the main living area, only the bedrooms, and we were unable to comfortably hang out together as a group in this hot/humid climate. Day two: found out the jacuzzi doesn't work after several attempts and assurance by the host that it does. The only reason we didn't leave on day one was because we got in late to begin with, and as a large group, we couldn't find other options at short notice - plus, we figured we're not there much as we're touring around La Fortuna. THEN, to top it all off, the host admittedly stole our personal belongings. He STOLE our Apple AirPods (worth $186) - we are able to see and track them on our phone. He admitted to having them through messaging and refused to mail them back to us (even though I offered to pay for shipping) and simply said "I'll hold them until you pass by again..." knowing full well we had left the area/country and couldn't. What a horrible human being and a horrible place to stay.

The pictures are totally inaccurate. The place may have looked like that once upon a time, but not on our stay this last December. I believe the property changed ownership and the new owners converted it from a hotel to an Airbnb. The worst problem was the mold issue. I traveled w/ a large party and almost everyone got sick from the mold smell. I slept in one of the lower rooms. While the room looked fine at first glance, I discovered mold on the other side of the curtains. One of the ceiling lights wasn't working, nor was the TV. There was no toilet paper in the bathroom, and we were only given one towel each. On top of that there were some questionable stains on the bed sheets. The kitchen area was not well stocked. There were two kitchen faucets but only one worked. The microwave started sparking when we used it. I could go no but I believe the point is clear.
