Le Méridien Santiago

We transferred to Le Meridien Santiago at the very last minute after a very disappointing experience at a nearby hotel (and some very hasty research on TA!) Our experience could not have been a more pleasant one. Having seen the concerns raised around carpets etc, I asked to see the room before we unpacked. Let me reassure you - yes, the carpets are in the process of being upgraded, and have a few stains, but they were clean! The whole place is spotless. We were warmly welcomed by Ritchie and Enzo, and every other staff member we encountered was nothing but helpful and accommodating. The location is right by a busy road, but the rooms were quiet, and just on the other side of that road (3 mins walk) is the lovely Lastarria neighbourhood. The rooms are wonderfully spacious, and if you're lucky as we were, incredible views to the city and mountains. Breakfast buffet is enormous and varied, and we liked this hotel so much we even ate at the restaurant for dinner (great meal). Don't be put off by the bad reviews - all the public areas have had the Le Meridien facelift with other areas to follow. I suspect once that's happened they'll need to (rightfully) charge more, so right now is a good time to secure excellent service and amenities for a great price in comparison to others in the area. Also (although we didn't use it) the HoHo bus stops here!

The most amazing, friendly and helpful staff, from security, to servers, to housekeeping, and front office especially Alexander at the front desk! Yes the hotel might need new carpets, but I don’t stay at a hotel for their carpets! The staff is very helpful and friendly! Will come back!!!

Not to be one of those reviews, but trust me -- do NOT stay here. Between the mysterious stains all over the carpet, our room key having a "trick" to it (aka jiggling up and down in the card receptor until you see a green light while ignoring the red lights along the way), and the completely unhelpful staff -- it really impacted our trip to Santiago. There were numerous hotel goers taking an extra ride in the elevator as they couldn't figure out the "trick" behind the double push needed to get the lobby button to light up. We went to breakfast the first morning at the hotel, only to open a packet of syrup that had solidified and started to become "flakey." Our shower bath products were empty. We asked that they replenish them and the staff brought up two bars of soap instead. The curtain was off the track and therefore difficult/impossible to move. This is NOT representative of a Marriott or Le Meridien product. Please heed my warning -- you couldn't pay me to stay in this space again.

First time at Le Meridien in Santiago, it’s going thru some much needed renovation!! Entrance, Lovby, Bar and breakfast great.. Rooms need work, which they are doing. The hotel is not in the best part of town BUT it’s close to many attractions and restaurantes.. The price is right for where it is and what you get. I would not pay more for where it is. I will be back!!

This hotel badly needs renovation. Only one of three elevators worked during my stay. TV didn't work for 2 days. Lounge is under renovation, they offer snacks at the bar. Rooms also look old and tired. Breakfast reasonably good. Stuff is reasonably friendly. The concierge was very friendly and helpful. Because of some technical issue my stay booked via Marriott was booked as if via a third party. I didn't get any points or nights for this stay. Marriott is unable to rectify their own problem, the hotel sent my multiple emails promising this would be resolved, but it hasn't been. Will not stay again.
