My husband and I stayed at Katikies Hotel Santorini in Oia for 7 nights in August/September 2020. This was our first trip to Santorini and it was everything I had imagined it to be. The hotel is picture perfect, beautiful, minimal and luxurious. It felt very classy. There was one day that we had a very loud Instagram influencer come to take photos by the pool which ruined the vibe but luckily she didn’t stay too long. The hotel has 3 pools for guests to use and in general there was no issue finding a sun lounger by the pool. The staff by the pool were fantastic. The views are just breathtaking. We booked a Double Room which was an ok size and nicely decorated and maintained. The room has a very cute balcony with amazing views from which we would just sit and watch the sunset. The sunset views were amazing from every part of the hotel. We had breakfast at the hotel which was always delicious. We would order from a menu but there was no limit to how much we could order. Views from breakfast were amazing again. We had a few lunches by the pool and the food was fantastic again. Overall the service was great. The hotel doesn’t have spa facilities but I did have a nice massage in one of the treatment rooms. The cherry on the top was that we got upgraded to the best room in the hotel for the last 3 nights. I’m honestly not sure why, we were there for our wedding anniversary but I’m not sure that was the reason, I think it might have just been random. This room/villa was unbelievable, it was 2 floors and had its own private pool. We would have our breakfasts served on our private terrace, it was incredible! This was such a special treat but like I mentioned earlier our initial room ( the cheapest option) also felt very very special. The hotel is located nicely in Oia and we would walk to all the restaurants in the town in the evening for dinner. We were surprised that the restaurant prices were actually quite reasonable in the town and the quality of the food was amazing. The hotel helped us with all our dinner bookings and made sure we always had a nice table reserved. We booked a half day boat trip through one of the travel agents based in town which was very special - would recommend Santorini Yachting club for the sunset trip. The one downside is the price of this hotel but I think this is how much luxury costs in Santorini. We’ve stayed at luxury resorts in the Maldives, Bora Bora, Seychelles, Bali, Mauritius which have much bigger rooms, grounds and more facilities for the same price or even less.
