ザ・キングス・ヘッド(The King's Head)

Without doubt THE best pub with accommodation in the country. So glad we have found this pub as it’s a the perfect stopover when looking for somewhere near the M6 but also fantastic location for visiting the Yorkshire Dales and it’s so peaceful. If you want to bring your dog then they’re welcome too. Kenni and staff are all so welcoming and are perfect hosts. It has such a lovely, cosy a**osphere. You can either sit and relax in the bar area next to the roaring fire or the dining area is also lovely with its beautiful decor and flagstone floors. The food is delicious and breakfast is 10/10. The bedrooms are a good size and I had one of my best nights sleep. The rooms have everything you need including disposable toothbrush/toothpaste should you forget yours. We have recommended The Kingshead to many people and can’t wait to return. Hopefully very soon

We booked a table based on a recommendation from a neighbour during our stay in Heggerscales. The Kings Head did not disappoint!! Even on a rainy Thursday evening Ravenstonedale is so picturesque, the pub beautifully lit outside and so welcoming when walking in., it feels like walking into a friends house. The decor is beautiful with soft ambient lighting, the staff were so busy but so very attentive, welcoming, friendly and could not do enough for us. Something for everyone on the menu, and we had no complaints at all - the rack of lamb, wainwrights ham and pizza where all delicious and the desserts were equally excellent. Amazing local beer Red Squirrel is a must when visiting also. Thank you for a lovely evening to end our break, we will. Definitely be back! :)

I had a booking for a 25 person meal last Sunday. From the off the owner was super accommodating and friendly. The pub had a lovely, relaxing a**osphere and was very warm and inviting. From my experience, usually with a large group booking at least one meal mix up occurs and the food often arrives slowly and /or cold. I couldn't fault the service we received. Everything came as ordered and everybody ate at the same time. The food was great. Dogs were welcome. My family commented on the friendly chats they had with the owner. This meal really topped off our trip and I would like to thank all the staff. We would absolutely revisit if we came back to the area.

We stayed at The Kings Head for 2 nights last weekend. We had a lovely time. The room was lovely and spacious. The food was lovely and the staff were all really friendly. We also liked the little added touches such as access to extra tea, coffee and milk, the fruit bowl on the landing, the sewing kit and shoe polish kit. Also enjoyed the games room, more so because I won at darts🤣.

The Kings Head is so a**ospheric - immediately upon walking in we felt at home, warm and cosy, very welcome after walking up to the 9 Standards Rigg in fog and rain. We stayed in Room 5, which we think was either above the bar or games room area and although we were aware of the music etc, it didn’t detract from our comfort and enjoyment. The room was lovely and clean, bed very comfortable. Fresh fruit always available on the way to our room which is a lovely touch. Breakfast choice was great, really filling and the evening meals were fab. Staff very pleasant and kind. All in all, a great couple nights away.

Fantastic stay for an overnight stop before hols. Great rooms, great food and unbelievable hospitality by the owners. Would recommend this to anyone

This was a late booking and I landed at the hotel, I booked a room for 3 adults and everything was looking ok. I got to the hotel at 11pm and the ported said. The room is for 2 adults only, even with my booking being for 3 adults (me and my 2 sisters). They he went on to charge an additional £50 for me having an extra person in the room. After this he also informed me the room service staff leave at 3pm so there was no one available to move a spare bed so one of my sisters had to sleep on the floor. YES I had to pay £50 to sleep on the FLOOR! absolute disgrace. My son spoke to the manager and the following morning and accepted it was wrong but refused to give the refund of £50 in her words. "they still have bills to pay!" they wouldn't even honour the breakfast side of the B&B deal for my sister this also came at an additional cost even after they apologised for making her sleep on the floor. TOTAL DISGRACE

Food was excellent - best fish & chips I have had in a long time! Menu to suit all from the smallest to the eldest in our group, good choice of wines and above all friendly, helpful staff. Have visited the kings head many times and it never disappoints.

Wow what a find. Beautiful pub, excellent food and a very lovely room ! I have to call out the incredibly friendly owners and a sense of a really happy place.
