No doubt the general ambiance of this hotel is lovely and the staff make their best efforts to provide top notch service. Unfortunately, we visited after getting spoiled to the core by another 5 star property in Fiss, Austria that had better facilities, better room service, and was truly ski in and ski out. The Alpenroyal was a nice hotel. Having to take a shuttle (provided on demand and expeditiously) was not ideal, but the hotel made the most out if it's location. The outdoor pool was nice, but you couldn't swim per se to the indoor pool without having to get out of one and into the other. The indoor pool wasn't particularly appealing in its size or ambiance. Turn down service: We were a little surprised there was no chocolate, treat, or anything particulary special every night when the curtains were drawn and bed opened up for a good night's sleep. The food at the hotel was good. I don't think we will return though.

We were staying in Alpenroyal in the 2nd part of December, including for Christmas and after. We are booking this hotel the 3d time in a row and would like to book it again for the next season. For us it is a perfect place to spend family ski vacations - as soon as you arrive, you feel like you are at home, as you are being awaited and you are being taken a very special care of. The people at the hotel are very warm hearted and they all try their best to make your stay truly unforgettable. The hotel has a perfect location - just at the entrance to Sella Ronda. You can do Sella Ronda in each direction easily from the hotel (with a 3-4 min shuttle bus service the morning and getting back to the hotel with your skis on). You can also ski in different adjusting to Sella Ronda ski areas like Alta Badia or Monte Pana. In case you would like to try smith different from Sella Ronda for the change, there are skiing areas Seiser Alm and St Christina just 5-10 min drive from the hotel. All the facilities of the hotel are super - wellness/SPA/fitness, shuttle services, people at the reception can help you to organise the experience you need. Food is absolutely amazing - the only difficulty there is to stop eating, as everything is super delicious. ;-) We like the hotel and the people there a lot and we love our feeling, when we are there. We will definitely come back again :-))).

The service is outstanding, the food is the most delicious and the SPA is amazing - just what you need after a day of skiing. The slopes were great, too, and the snow was better than what we expected in March. I definitely recommend the hotel and the location. We plan to come back next year!

Superb quality and facilities, excellent modern spa, exquisite food and friendly atmosphere. Big attention to all detail. Although it’s not a ski in ski out, by combination of location and own shuttle it allows to get very quickly in different skiing directions. Have been here several times, really love this place.

A very nice family run hotel in Selva di Valgardena. The staff are professional and super helpful. The food in the restaurants is great. The suite was spacious and very clean. The hotel has an amazing wellness, gym and pool area with is great to use after a long day on the slopes. Overall a very nice and relaxing ski holiday. Highly recommended.

Wow! What a great experience! We are a family of 4, traveled with older teens. Everything was on point. Our rooms (suite connected to jr suite) were spacious, comfortable, and quiet. The on-demand shuttle service to/from the lifts was quick and painless (just call the front desk when you’re ready to be picked up). Rooms were sparkling clean. Staff patiently answered our many questions. Great place to ski! The ski rental place was great -Lucca made sure we had great equipment waiting for us. The spa was really special (both the massage and the sauna zone). Naked sauna took a bit of getting used to. You can drape a towel around yourself in the sauna, and the steam rooms are dark and misty enough that they provide some privacy. It was important for us to follow the local custom, so naked we went! But perhaps there can be an hour bookable for private sauna for those that need more privacy. The outdoor water world allowed bathing suits, so we took our teen daughter there and we enjoyed it very much. It all felt very health and wellness-focused and relaxing. Last, but not least, the food and service were wonderful. You have the same server throughout the week for dinner. Our server was Dima (short for Dimitri), and he was amazing and made our week very special. He is trained as a sommelier and helped us navigate the (crazy extensive) wine list. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. My daughter is pescatarian and always found plenty of great choices. We had dinner one night at the gourmet restaurant and it was a notch above, if you can go one evening, do it! The servers alternate around breakfast and they immediately get to know you and will bring your cappuccino, etc. It was a wonderful week with everything we could possibly need, and we would love to return next year!

Great hotel, beautiful rooms, excellent service, delicious breakfasts with fresh squeezed oj, delicious dinners, attentive management, even had miniature bottles of Nutella which i took home as a gift for our grandchildren! Clise to great mountain hikes.

Excellent hotel, excellent people, excellent service! Very good location, beautiful and functional spa, massage. Everything is very well organized. Easy access to the skilifts. Nice rooms. Very tranquil.

The facilities, spa and especially the outside pool, are impressively excellent, and the food — both breakfast and dinner — is highly varied and superb. The ski room manager Lucas is incredibly kind and helpful. The waiters are top notch accommodating of all your needs.

We really enjoyed staying here and would love to return. The restaurant was great (we had half board) and the staff super helpful. Although the hotel was full, it never seemed too busy - the spa in particular was lovely. Efficient private bus can pick you up from one of several locations after skiing or you can ski back to hotel yourself. Reception can organise ski pass and there’s a ski rental shop in hotel basement. Very organised!

If you want to enjoy the snow of the Dolomites and at the same time relax at the SPA, this is the right place. The hotel has everything you need to access the snow facilities (very efficient ski equipment rental, ski school office inside, transportation to the ski facilities). The SPA and wellness area is pretty big. The two restaurants are run by a 1 Michelin star chef. The whole staff was great. A particular thank you to Cristina and Salvatore who made our stay even more special!

Last week we spent yet another vacation week at this true gem of the Dolomites…. Alpenroyal Grand Hotel. We have been coming here for over 10 years and as always we receive an amazing service from so many people… from the owners to all the staff. Everyone is super nice and makes us feel like we are at home. So many things to do at the resort and in the surrounding area. Winter time is a skier’s paradise for everyone. Food and wine is world class as well. After skiing saunas and relaxation is just what one needs to recover from day of activities. We will be back in July to enjoy this magnificent hotel and the mountains. See you soon and thank you for you wonderful hospitality!!!

This was our second time in Val Gardena, and our first at the Alpenroyal Hotel. The location in Selva is perfect, and the grounds are amazing. From every vantage point on the property there are wonderful views of the mountains and alpine scenery, including the Sasso Lungo and the Sella group. The pools and sauna/spa are beautiful and spacious, and the massages were first rate. The food is "five stars" quality, and the staff are ALL so very helpful. One must take the half board to take advantage of this great value. I would NOT hesitate to come back and enjoy the "dolce vita" here. Ken and Mary P.

Without doubt one this is our most favorite hotel in Val Gardena! Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the staff and the general manager, our names were mentioned and after a welcome drink we were assisted to the Junior Suite. The staff was extremely friendly and easy going and the restaurant did and amazing job as always. The chef Mario, the restaurant supervisor Momo and all the waiters and staff deserve a special thanks. We had seven great days and evenings here, which obviously also added up to the experience. Plenty of summer activities on the mountains, visiting and shopping at the near by towns, as well as relaxing by the pool and spa which includes both Finnish and Turkish saunas. This is not only a 5/5-star hotel, but the atmosphere is so special that we really feel like at home. All respect for the general managers Hannes and Verena who do a great job here; a true sample of excellent hospitality!
