My stay at Muchen Hotel in Shangrao was honestly disappointing. The only real advantage is the location near the railway station, although even that comes with problems because the entire area around the hotel is under construction with unclear roads and difficult access.
I booked a suite and specifically chose this hotel because they promised transportation service to and from the railway station. Unfortunately, despite asking multiple times and being promised it again by the staff, the service never happened. They also mentioned a welcome gift during booking, which I never received.
The room itself was only average and not particularly clean. One thing I really disliked was the use of disposable towels. When paying for a hotel suite, I expect proper hotel standards and comfort, not something that feels closer to a hostel or temporary stay accommodation.
The service was the biggest disappointment. The staff felt cold and unwelcoming throughout the stay. I even asked politely about adding breakfast because it was unclear in my booking, but there was no effort to help or accommodate the request. Overall, I was genuinely surprised by how poor the hospitality and service quality were.
