MOUNTAIN•DESIGNE Oxygen-rich Scenic Stay (Moonlight Square, Dukezong Ancient Town)

The location is good. Near to Dukezong old town . The room is spacious and big. The provide oxygen machine when you need it. Sweet dessert were served in the evening once you are back to the hotel. The only thing is breakfast were not so good and the reception/lobby area can be more organised to give guest a more welcoming feel. Otherwise everything else were good .

The location is convenient, about a 10-minute walk to the ancient city. The room was very spacious, and I was kindly upgraded to a larger room by the owner. Overall, I was satisfied with the room’s comfort. However, there were several downsides to my stay. The view from the room faced the roadside, so it wasn’t particularly special. The bathtub was not properly cleaned, I had to clean it again before using it. Additionally, the toilet heating was broken, which was a major issue, especially during winter. Bad experience with this homestay: One of the most disappointing aspects was the breakfast. My booking included breakfast, but it turned out to be the worst breakfast experience I’ve ever had. When I arrived at the dining area, most of the food was already finished, with only a few pieces left. The tables were messy, covered in food residue and trash from previous guests, and there weren’t enough seats available for us to have the breakfast. The worst part of my stay happened, last night I had inquired with the receptionist about arranging a transfer to Shangri-La Station, and he confirmed and agreed the service. However, the next morning, there was no one at the reception to assist me. After calling customer service, another receptionist (different from the one I spoke to the night before) finally arrived. He was then refused to provide the agreed transfer. I informed the receptionist that we had discussed this the night before and that the previous receptionist had agreed to arrange the transfer. He started to talked impolitely to told me to call his boss to pick me up instead. His attitude was rude and aggressive. Even after customer service confirmed the arrangement, he reluctantly agreed to send us with an extremely bad attitude. For safety reasons, I declined to take his car and told him the service was bad. This triggered him, and he started yelling at me and arguing in the homestay lobby, making the situation even worse. In summary, while the room was comfortable, the service was terrible. I was extremely dissatisfied and had one of the worst homestay experiences ever. I would not recommend this place.

Great location, easy to reach. They provide train station transfer as well. Will come back again.

This is by far the best hotel I stayed at during my trip to China. The hotel is equipped with all modern amenities, especially the toilet with an automatic bidet (something that’s not found anywhere else in China). The room was incredibly cozy with modern heating facilities, and the host even provided an oxygen machine (though I didn’t actually need to use it). I truly felt that it was worth every penny for the two nights I spent here. One of the highlights was the adorable and friendly Ragdoll cat that lives here! The hotel owner even allowed us to bring the cat into our room to play, and it was just so sweet and playful. Moreover, the host offered us a free pick-up and drop-off service at both the train station and the airport, even though it was 7 in the morning! I honestly have no complaints about this hotel. If you want to enjoy a fantastic stay in Shangrila, book this hotel now!
