Best stay in Shangri la by far. Waking up to perfect views of the greenery and the mountains. A lot of cow/horse poo around the entrance though so be careful not to step on it. I love the cute and friendly dogs in the accommodation property. Nice and friendly owners too. I will definitely be back!

I love this little place. Each room is an individual villas / rooms with its own bathroom. Standing on its own with lots of space between each villas. It feels as if we are on our own with no one next to us but the wide open skies. The property is nestled in the nature amongst the local farmers and we got to experience a milking a cow on one of the home farmers backyard. My girls 10 & 12 thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We got to bring the milk back to the property and the staff helped us to treat the milk before serving it to us for consumption. It was a shame that we are a month too early for the mushroom picking experience (Shangri-La being on a higher altitude) My girls roamed the "neighbourhood" outside the property with their walkie talkies and were just playing with the neighbours / farmers chicken , cows, lambs and horses. They had a ball. Within the property itself, there are 3 dogs who will visit you at your villa or at the reception / dining area (when food is served) at all times of the day. They are so friendly and my girls thoroughly enjoyed their company. There is also a horse on the property who roams around freely. The staff is so accommodating to our needs. The property is about 20 mins out from city centre and we can organise a driver with the property to pick us up and drop us off. We were driven by the owner of the property on multiple occasions and always just text them about 30-1 hour in advance (depending on where we are). It was nice to have that option. sometimes it's easier to have a familiar face and because we spoke mandarin, it was also nice to be able to converse with the same person . Breakfast was scrumptious in my opinion and we get an option of noodles or rice porridge and condiments to go with. You can request for dinner as well and they will ask you during the day etc. although wild mushroom hot pot (their speciality in the area) needs to be prepared one day in advance. It is a very special place and as we were leaving the owner is installing new furniture to the rooms and also a new structure for an outdoor BBQ space. This is a very special place and i think we will come back again very soon!!

I loved the charm and quiet atmosphere. The cottage was clean and cozy and I really liked waking up seeing cows graze in the pasture. When I fell sick due to altitude sickness the boss took me to the hospital and helped me through the whole process. I highly recommend staying here in Shangri La. The food was delicious and it’s away from all the busy noise of the main town. You can even do a little hiking from this homestay. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

My kids love this place. They were very happy with the open space and enjoyed hanging out with the doggies. There were alot of wildflowers in the compound too. The room was big, spacious and clean. The beds come with electrical blankets, so it wasn't cold when we were sleeping. Breakfast was the same everyday, but it's OK.

Pros: Helpful owner which even drop us off at station and allow us to leave luggage at his other inn. Left stuff behind and they help to courier it to us. Herbal footpath soak was provided, including one time use plastic for the tub. Cute room, exactly same as trip photos. Could be cons for ppl who are afraid of dogs but the dogs were super friendly and cute, that came running to gate to welcome us. Help to heat up food that we brought. Breakfast was good. Cons Location whereby you need a car to get to. Only two restaurants deliver food there. And if you want order dinner from them, have to inform in advance. Wasn’t aware and did not order in advance but they had kindly allow to order hotpot (which honestly was abit pricey). So please prepare food before heading there. Will definitely go again if I were to go Shangrila as the only con was the location which is already stated on the listing.

What an absolute beautiful please, everything was amazing from the room to the view. Peaceful and quiet. Yang was super friendly and so helpful. I loved my stay here and will definitely be back!
