暖房からの騒音がとても大きかったので、私たちの週末は本当に台無しになりました。

Excellent hotel close to everything fantastic location

Our room (number 120) definitely wasn’t a suite as advertised but a small room with a bathroom. The advertising said it was soundproofed but it wasn’t as we could hear the bar quite loudly all evening. The bathroom didn’t have an actual shower to stand under it only had a hand held one. The sink taps didn’t work properly and the extractor fan stayed on for about an hour after turning the light off. The room itself was small and had an odd smell. The window had a single curtain which didn’t even cover the whole window. The mini fridge just sat on the floor and there was no bottle opener or glasses. The cupboard didn’t have any doors and looked second hand. You couldn’t use the hairdryer and have the tv on at the same time. There was a very low bedside piece of furniture that was so low that it couldn’t be used. There wasn’t even a phone in the room or a plug socket near one side of the bed. We were woken up at 5:45am by a member of staff who put the tv on playing loud music in the bar which was directly underneath our room, we had to go down and tell him to turn it off. The breakfast was cold and limited with potato wedges instead of hash browns. We didn’t eat it for fear of food poisoning.

We booked in to stay overnight for a wedding close by, we had a total of 3 rooms as a family, the rooms are average but clean, we did not have bath towels in our room, there was tea making available, we was able to put the bags in early and attend the wedding, the self service check in was ok until we went to collect our key cards then it was a bit of a struggle, the bar staff was very busy trying to service drinks not very well also, the breakfast was average run out of stuff fast and slow refilling the cutlery. I have paid the same prices at other hotels and they have been much better. It was ok for one night.

We were greeted on entry and ordered our drinks at the bar as we were early Wednesday morning were shown to our table and directed to the buffet areas. Everything was explained in detail, from the soup starter, the cavery and side dishes to the salad and dessert areas. There is also a self service coffee area. The soup was leek and potato which was very tasty, for the cavery there was a choice of gammon and beef with Yorkshire pudding and vegetables. For desserts there was apple pie, various gateaux with custard or ice cream on request The service was very good and staff regularly checked if there was anything else we needed We were not rushed and there was a nice relaxing a**osphere We will definitely be going back there again

The biggest problem is that I’ve been fined for parking while staying the night. When I booked we thought it was included and now a week later I’ve been fined!!!! Also the rooms aren’t really that nice. As I walked through the corridors I could see into areas that I shouldn’t and they were messy and unorganised. There was also a few trip hazards on my way to and from our room. As the rooms were being cleared they just left everything out with not much consideration

We were part of the wedding group. Booked most of the newly refurbished 40 rooms of the 53 rooms hotel. Hotel team gave a fantastic warm welcome, organised Dinner meals and cocktail events. Buffet breakfast with great choices and wonderful service. Free Wi-Fi, free parking, pet friendly with flexible check in and check outs. Amazing time we had, friendly service and good value!

Dingy, noisy pipes and building creaks, super cheap tv, dirty bath and not even any bed side tables…

Positives: Good value, friendly staff, bar open until late, ironing board in room, good location. Negatives: paid up front but on checking in hotel policy is to take your bank card and make a £1 transaction on it - odd. When I asked why as I had already paid in full on line they said it was ‘in case of damages’. I found this dubious and marginally offensive that they distrust professional guests. Also by giving your card details they could then take any payment they wish on site. I didn’t feel comfortable with this from a security point of view and wouldn’t stay again on principle.
