Hotel is perfectly located for exploring Ortigia. Francesco was very welcoming and helpful with information on the accommodation, parking and recommendations for things to do/see and places to eat.

Самое плохое, что в номере очень слышно блок кондиционера наружнего и также очень громко работает внутренний блок, также очень шумный холодильник, все это приводит к тому, что очень сложно комфортно спать. Плюс кондиционер дует прям на кровать, что приводит к простудам.

Amazing experience staying at this beautiful hotel. Location is great and very safe, Francesco and Nicole are very friendly and helpful hosts, and the rooms are clean, spacious and modern. Would certainly like to return.

We stayed at Fortaleza Charme House in Siracusa for five nights in early May 2026 on the fourth leg of a five week visit to Sicily. We made our booking nine months ahead based on the unanimously five-star reviews on Trip Advisor. We were not disappointed and we have many positive things to say about Fortaleza Charme House. Let’s begin with our host Francesco with whom we were in touch prior to our arrival; he was always quick to respond, did so clearly and was generous with his pre-arrival advice; when we arrived he welcomed us warmly and was very helpful with touristic advice and restaurant suggestions, Then there is the location which from our perspective was ideal: on a quiet side street very near the pedestrian bridge to Ortigia and the hustle and bustle of that historic area; just a block or two from main streets such as Corso Umberrti I in the modern part of the city and Corso Matteotti in Ortigia and within walking distance of the Duomo, the puppet museum and theatre and the street market in Ortigia and the Neapolis Archeological Park and the train station in the modern area. The House itself is another winner: a completely and tastefully renovated 19th century building, with an elevator and modern and spotless rooms; our two room junior suite with sea view and terrace (overlooking the little port) included a comfortable bedroom, a very modern bathroom and even some kitchen facilities, all at what we considered a fair and very reasonable rate. Finally, there were the great restaurants within walking distance among which our favourites were: Pasticceria Manuele where we ate breakfast on their patio every morning; Lisca, a seafood restaurant that was so great that we had dinner there twice; and Puros with excellent pizza and a great vibe (all three restaurants reviewed separately). Overall, Fortaleza Charme House exceeded our high expectations and we highly recommend it when staying in Siracusa.

We just LOVED this stay and could have stayed for longer. It had a small fully equipped kitchen which we used to make our own breakfast. It’s spacious and has separate spaces for sitting and sleeping. Bathroom was modern with a heated towel rail which is handy for washing/drying things. Good position close to Ortigia, without being noisy. Cute courtyard which we sat in and ate gelati. Helpful staff +++

We stayed as grandparents with our young family with two small children. Although we had made separate bookings, Francesco observed the two bookings from the same place for the same length of stay, so he upgraded us to a room just opposite our family with access to a common courtyard. It was just perfect. Rooms were wonderful, spotlessly clean, spacious and with cooking facilities which were handy for cooking baby food for the infant and having breakfast together in the room bought from just around the corner. We stayed for 7 nights and enjoyed the proximity to the old town in Ortigia, yet just outside the noisy and somewhat touristic old town. We parked in the street for free and had no major issues finding a spot. Throughout our stay, Francesco was extremely helpful and considerate. I really don't think I can find any negative points about this place and commend it highly.

A recently renovated type of small palace. Great materials used . Spacious apartment with modern bathroom and a terrace overlooking a small port. Very charming

The location is perfect. The staff is very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed the wonderful tall rooms and the comfort of being close to shops, restaurants and the interesting archeological sites and museums. We will certainly recommend this location and will return in the future.
