Iberostar Selection Paraíso Maya Suites

PROS: * Incredible facilities. Well maintained, clean, and visually spectacular to the Maya theme. * No reason to leave the resort: Great diversity of restaurants, planned activities, and things to do between the theatre, play areas for kids pool, spa, sports bars, and beach. * Very well integrated with nature and fantastic commitment to sustainability. You can see lots of peacocks and coati's walking around. No plastic bottles, and good conservation practices. * Genuinely helpful staff who try to make sure your experience meets your expectations with all the powers available to them. Special mention to Sara, Maria, and Yomira who worked with me to resolve all challenges. They were really great! *Rooms are spacious, clean and have lots of amenities including free mini-bar (restocked once per day), hot/cold water, ironing board, and air conditioning. Laundry Service and room service available for small fees. CONS: * The Iberostar App is a key tool used for navigation and loading your hotel credits. For the duration of my stay, it didn't work as it was supposed to. Concierge needed to give me manual coupons to compensate for the app not loading the discount codes. * Questionable scheduling for ******* exclusive benefits. The complementary bottle of wine that came with this package was delivered on the evening of day 4 of our 5-day trip, despite me asking for it since checking-in. Make sure to request it be available upon arrival when checking in to avoid this issue.

We stayed at the Iberostar Selection Paraiso Maya Suites from October 6 thru October 11th. We were a group of 10 people and we all enjoyed our stay at this resort. The rooms, pools, and restaurants were all clean. We really enjoyed the variety of food options at their buffet and thought the food was great. As big coffee drinkers we thought the coffee was okay. The kids had a blast at the kids pool and the beach, and our 11 year old also had fun in the water slides. Our mini fridge was always full and restocked with drinks. The resort has GREAT views and many good places to take family pictures at. The drinks were okay, but they were never high quality, they do offer high quality liquor though. We attended their shows everyday and thought they were great, we liked that guests participated. The only concerning things here was the service from their employees, although the resort was not even so packed, some of their employees had attitudes, would rush you to order, and were not very attentive, which is something uncommon at other resorts. Also be aware that they will try to sit down and have breakfast with you, this is all a scheme to convince you to buy their membership or time share. Be aware that this resort is about 25 minutes from Cancun and Playa del Carmen, so be prepared to spend a good amount for the taxi. Overall we had a great time, we would definitely come back to this resort with the hope that their staff is more attentive towards their guests.

Pros: Large property, lots to do, kid-friendly, beautiful beach, well positioned main pool and other pool options, fun vibe, app is easy to use, decent sized rooms Cons: Service was lacking, no food/snack bar near the main pool which is really unfortunate,it feels like they should have more staff working, rooms are not ocean-front/facing, large property so it involved a lot of walking (could be pro or con) , lots of mosquitos given it's more of a 'nature' property as well

The coati were everywhere on the beach. They will go into your tote and pull things out. Literally will lock the cups you drink out of. Staff does best to cleanup right away but a lot of coati. Rocks/coral in the water. If you’re looking to swim in the ocean look where people are clustered together no rocks there.

******* VIP perks were not honored during my visit. Other than that, really good experience.

The vibes are great and they mixed the property with nature so well. Great pools and beach access but the rooms are a bit old and crumbling. Food is horrible and room service took at least an hour after ordering. Only place with a half-decent food was the steakhouse. Worst part was the concierge service. When I asked about the $400 voucher I should receive from *******, they tried to get me into one of their sales pitch presentations to get a $450 worth of spa credit. After I declined, they gave me the $400 in 16 vouchers that are $25 off $100 which cannot be combined together. So practically I have to spend $1,600 at the resort to get the $400. Definitely not coming back to this resort!
