ホテル ラ ペルゴラ(Hotel la Pergola)

We had a 4 night stay for my birthday which started with a fantastic pre booked taxi driver from the airport to the Hotel with a history lesson on route. This hotel is small with very welcoming, friendly helpful staff in a quiet location. It's spotlessly clean throughout, comfy beds & clean towels daily. Breakfast is continental & perfect to start the day. Location is about a 25 minute walk into the town, the hotel can provide transport if required.

We visited just before the summer season started staying for five nights - obviously some of the facilities were closed but that didn’t trouble us. Hotel is a little outside Sorrento and it is about a 15-20 minute walk in. There are however quite a few restaurants in easy walking distance. Locally to the hotel, most restaurants and bars had still to open for the season. The Pergola is a nice small hotel - about 30 rooms I think - we were in the sea side but the sea is at least 500m away and there are many buildings in the way of the view. The room was fine and had a little balcony. Staff were all great and they thoughtfully figured out it was my birthday and left a bottle of Prosecco in the room. Only criticism is the breakfast - not great and made worse as when we were there there was also a large tour group who hovered up most of the food which then wasn’t replaced. They really need to improve the quality and selection but I’m aware that breakfasts in Italy are normally minimal. I would recommend the hotel if you want a quiet location to stay.

Lovely hotel. Rooms are a reasonable size big enough for three of us to stay comfortably for four nights. The staff were fantastic so friendly. Plenty of places to sit including a roof terrace with a stunning view. Drinks from the bar very reasonably priced and the breakfast was continental lots of choice including cereal, Yogurts, fruit, croissants and cakes. We had the most stunning view from the balcony. Could not fault this hotel.

Felt a little disappointed with the hotel. It was very clean and only 15 mins from Sorrento centre but not what I'd expect from a 4 star rating. The room was just about big enough for 2, but there was not enough storage for clothes (only 4 coathangers) and the layout of the bathroom was not good. The toilet was situated too close to the shower cubicle, making it difficult to sit on the toilet comfortably. The shower cubicle was also small and wouldn't be accessible for a larger person. Luckily, we are slim !! The photos on the website are misleading, as you are led to believe the rooms have a sea view. This is not the case, as our room overlooked neighbouring hotels and we found that the noise coming from these hotels was very loud at night. We found the breakfast to be a bit bland. Too much cake and would have appreciated some fresh fruit and maybe a hot food option?

My friend and I stayed here for 4 nights in early July. We arrived late at night as our shared transfer taxi was late (other travellers flight was late). We were welcomed by a surprised Nic - I don't think he was expecting anyone to check in at 00:30am!! The room for our first night was a standard room on the ground floor, made into a twin bed room on request. It was small, basic but clean. That said for the remainder of our stay we upgraded to a superior room on the 2nd floor - bigger with a small balcony and a view. Nic was friendly and very helpful throughout our stay. Also helpful were Rosanna and Olga, and others whose names I don't recall. A nice buffet breakfast with a reasonable number of choices. I do wish they had tea making facilities in the room though. Thank goodness for A/C in the hotel, it turned out to be very hot when we were there - around 36-38c. The walk into Sorrento was around 15/20mins. We enjoyed complimentary drinks at Cafe Latino on our 1st full day - very nice! Enjoyed walking around Sorrento over the next couple of days. Plus we booked a last minute half day tour to Pompeii, including a 2-hour walking tour. Tour was good, interesting but a challenge in the heat! We did take advantage on a couple of evenings to use the shuttle bus into the town centre....a daytime service would be a good addition if that can be arranged in future. This was my 2nd trip to Sorrento (I stayed somewhere else the 1st time).....I had just as good a time this time as I did last September. Thank you to Nic and all of the staff at Hotel La Pergola.

A truly wonderful holiday. We stayed for 7 days in June 2023, the staff were always friendly and helpful. Our room was modern and clean. Hotel La Pergola is situated in a quieter part of Sorrento but still only a 15 minutes walk from the centre (on the flat) We used the pool several times and the views from the roof terrace were lovely. Our package was booked through Jet2, everything was simple and straight forward. Many thanks Steven and Cheryl

The hotel is about a 25 minute walk from the centre of Sorrento . It is a small hotel , perhaps slightly dated but the cleanliness and friendly staff make up for that . It has a small pool and a roof top terrace giving panoramic views with loungers and seating . The rooms are small and slightly dated but very clean and we had a small balcony with sea views . We had half board -the evening meal is not at the hotel - it’s is in a restaurant in sorrento town centre ( 1.6 miles walk ) and the hotel provide transport in the evening if you wish . The evening food is excellent - you do not have drinks included ( not even water ) but the food choice was great . The rooms are cleaned daily with fresh towels and bedding . The breakfast is Italian but quite odd, it is mainly cakes( around 10 varieties ) with ham, cheeee , cereal , salami caprese salad , squares of omelette and ratatouille or some kind of cooked veg . Occasionally there were fried eggs ( very set ) bread rolls etc and some tinned peaches . Most of the people on holiday were English and American so I think the breakfast needs to change a bit . Most people thought it was odd and I’m sure the cakes were brought out all week as hardly anyone touched them. The chap that manages the breakfast room and the night reception is so lovely and friendly - he looks so tired bless him as seems to work a lot of hours !! We would definitely stay here again -it’s not glitzy or glam but very pleasant and we had the roof top terrace to ourselves most of the time .

The plus points were the staff were very friendly and it was clean. Nice area. We had a superior room with a balcony, very underwhelming. Very little storage. Very hard pillows. Shower was small and not powerful. Two evenings we had lukewarm water. Had to get reception to open the safe on 2 occasions. The tv didn’t work until the day before we left. Only hot food at breakfast were eggs, which had been cooked well in advance, far too much cake and little else. Had to eat cereal with a teaspoon. Characterless bar in reception. Not sure what time bar on roof top terrace opens, we never saw anyone there. Pool is small and never saw anyone in it. Far nicer hotels in the area.

From the moment we stepped inside we were made to feel special. Room was great upgraded to a balcony , great view, room very clean, bed comfortable and fresh towels every day. Food for lunch was great as was the Breakfast which was extensive . Service always with a smile and very helpful. Would stay there again!
