ホリデイ クラブ カティンクルタ(Holiday Club Katinkulta)

After a long drive, we waited an hour at the reception to check in (actually an hour and 4 minutes). The room was quite outdated. I think the whole place needs renovation, but the room was bad and especially the bathroom. There was no place to dry clothes and equipment. The spa is nice and the kids enjoy it. The breakfast was good. The service was friendly and welcoming. The problem was that the reception was so full when we arrived.

I've been here three times, twice in winter and once in autumn. This is a flagship place of Holiday Club chain. There are always so much to do, despite of the season or the weather. One secret tip: go to the Vuokatti Bowling for a coffee and donut!

An excellent place for a winter holiday. The cottage has everything you need. The view from the window to Vuokatti and the lake is beautiful. The ski track starts right at the cottage. 10 minutes by car to the ski lift.

Surrounded by plush greenery and lakes as well as a golf resort...Catch a super sunset from our balcony. Food at the resort is really great too! You don't even need a car as the resort can be reached by bus from Kajaani train station in less than half an hour. Even the local transportation is super convenient to supermarket or even to Sotkamo for a bite to eat at the nice restaurants there.

I liked everything at the hotel. Wish that the parking was for free when you stay at the hotel and i also wish that it was litter faster system in the reception, it was a very long waiting to get the key for the rooms

Really nice holiday homes. We had two bedrooms, living room, kitchen, sauna and two toalets. And a balcony. 4th floor, silent, clean and nice views. We booked access to spa for all days and breakfast. Direct indoors access to spa area. Spa was reallly good , children enjoyed. Breakfast was basic. Kitchen was good.

We expected nice, clean and cozy rooms for the price we paid, but no. Rooms were not cleaned well, there was dirt, sand, hair etc on the floors. Tables and chairs in the rooms were not cleaned as well. Toilet was worn out and looked like it wasn't cleaned at all. Service staff at the hotel didn't appear to be very positive. Spa area was also dirty and some of the saunas and pools looked like they needed already some maintaince since there was tiles dropping off of them. Hotel gave wrong information about the spa's opening hours since everybody were forced to leave spa area 19:20, but we were told that area is open till 8 o'clock. All in all. Disappointed about the service, information and the rooms. Not going again and would never recommend this place to anyone. There are better spa's with similiar prices available in near areas

Suite was dirty, lots of dust, empty bear can on the balcony., etc. We said this in reception but nothing happened. Spa was ok but needs some updating. If you don't play golf this is not the place for you.

Staying in standard room with my two teenagers at the moment. Booked for 2 nights. Pros- beautiful surroundings. Spa is small and packed but quite decent. Food and service were good at o’learies.Staff in general very nice. Cons- everything is dated. In desperate need of refitting. Pillows are dreadful. Can’t really call them pillows. Completely flat with bits of foam (?) floating inside the pillow covering.I asked for new ones- they don’t have any better ones. The top of the sofa bed in which my son slept in crashed down at 1am. He then had to sleep in what was left of the sofa bed. Sofa bed is really old. Definitely not fit for an adult to sleep on it. I complained to the manager at the reception. Her solution was to give us the room next door with exactly the same pillows and the sofa bed. It’s a bit like visiting your grandparents who’ve never bought anything new since the eighties which would be fine as you are visiting your grandparents. instead you are staying at katinkulta “hotel” and I paid over 400 euros for the “staying over at your grandparents house- experience”. Super disappointed. Oh, it’s quite warm. The ac is a small table fan. 🤷🏼‍♀️
