酒店房間很小，不像國內酒店一樣，性價比很差，兩個白人女前台有種族歧視，房間似乎有監控，衹要房間白天有第三人出現就會很快來電話叫我們讓第三人退出房間！

This was the best stay we’ve had in any hotel anywhere in the world. The staff were attentive without being too much, the accommodation was incredible (Spa Suite) and the restaurants are among the best if any hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I travel a lot for work and stay in hotels everywhere but this place is special. An absolute premium experience.

We stayed as a couple for 5 nights in a Junior Suite. The room was well appointed and clean. Quite spacious and with double doors out onto a lawned area and a small patio with a hot tub. Whilst we enjoyed the hot tub it is not private and the area opens on to a communal area. Outside the room around the hot tub looked a little tired however it was a pretty outlook with alpacas wandering around the adjacent area. We dined at Source on our first night and the food and service were exceptional. Breakfast was very pleasant with plenty of choice. Overall enjoyed our stay and the food was a real highlight.

We're heading home after a great 2-night stay in a garden suite. What can I say? It's not cheap, so if you're looking for a budget-friendly place, this amazing hotel isn't for you. But if you want a relaxing break with incredible food, you might have found your spot. We had dinner at the Michelin restaurant the first night, and then lunch and dinner at the spice restaurant. We went for the full tasting menu, including the optional beef course, and did the wine pairing (not the premium one, since we don't know enough about wine to really get it, lol). We also had plenty of cocktails and brandy during our stay. I loved having drinks in the room and appreciated that they thought of everything, even plastic wine glasses for the hot tub area. I really liked how private the patio and tub area felt, and on the hottest weekend of the year so far, we had a nice shaded spot where I could just chill and read my book. We're in our 40s with busy jobs, so we're always looking for quiet, relaxing places to enjoy, and this is definitely one of the best we've found. We loved our couples massage at the spa, and the girls were really good. I just wish this place wasn't 4.5 hours from our house, because we'd love to visit more often. This was honestly one of the best hotel stays we’ve ever had. If not THE best. We stayed in a spa suite for our Silver Wedding anniversary. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by the exceptional staff. Friendly, thoughtful, kind and honestly just another level of attention to detail, without being overbearing. Just perfectly pitched. The accommodation was out of this world. Luxurious, every detail thought of and so comfortable. In room sauna and steam room and a jacuzzi and swimming pond outside. The massage chair was out of this world! We had food in the Spice restaurant and it was phenomenal. The sushi was amazing and the food beyond tasty. Again the staff were friendly, knowledgeable and impeccable in the way they treated us. We feel so lucky to have had this stay at Gilpin to celebrate and think Zoe and Barney (the owners) have created a simply wonderful place for anyone who wants to relax, unwind, and be spoiled. Thank you to everyone for an experience we will never forget.

Such a fabulous hotel, we loved every minute of it. Everyone was so kind and friendly, professional also but in a casual and not stuffy way. We were so lucky to be upgraded to a junior suite which was just incredible with a huge balcony and hot tub. The weather was perfect too. Gilpin Spice for dinner was completely delicious, third time we’ve been and gets better every time. Breakfast was superb the following morning. Please come here you won’t be disappointed.

True 5 star English gem! Welcomed and shown round our lodge within 5 mins, very friendly helpful staff. We stayed in spa lakeside lodge with massage chair, massage table, sauna and steam room. Amazing amazing stay - all good quality, loads of room, luxury bath robes and towels etc. - just as you expect 5 stars should be Food in both restaurants, out of the world. Michelin star restaurant was a real treat. My personal fav drink was champagne cocktail. Not a cheap stay but you get what you pay for in this world To me service was how it should be - staff anticipate clients needs, attention is second to none. Perfect service

2 night stay with my sister and for a 5 star rating which we were so looking forward to, we were left so disappointed. The whole place was extremely run down inside and out, the bannister was sticky, the room was very outdated, from rotting woodwork and peeling paint, to drips down the wallpaper, tv that didn’t work and the hot tub and patio had seen better days and wasn’t too clean. Service was average. Constantly had to ask for things from menus to cutlery to forgotten courses, sugar, milk, jam. Breakfast took forever to come. No offer of help to take bags out, chaos in the driveway and none of the Gilpin staff helping organise cars parked all over the place. Worst of all I got an email whilst at breakfast with an ‘invoice attached’ which wasn’t attached and when I asked for it at reception there was a £90 ‘discretionary service charge’ - given the room hadn’t been serviced at all we had no idea why this would be charged - I asked for it to be removed. Dinner at Gilpin spice was average but service was really good and the lady looking after us was excellent, knowledgeable and helpful though the Aperol spritz was the weakest I’ve ever had. Won’t be back and in our opinion 4 star at best.

Wow wow wow ...what a stunning place for a luxurious break. The gardens and hotel are perfect blend of country manor and class. Every detail is of the highest quality from the food to the coffee to the gorgeous complimentary toiletries. All the staff are friendly and attentive and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely return.

Booked this hotel for a relaxing night away with my partner and we enjoyed every second of our stay. It exceeded all our expectations. This was our first stay at this hotel but definitely not the last one. The hotel itself is beautiful with elegant touches and relaxing spaces. The staff went above and beyond and every person we spoke to was very professional and friendly. The room was spotless and we slept very well. We had drinks in the bar before dinner whilst listening to a live piano music which you don't see much anymore these days. Really enjoyed it. We ate the Spice restaurant which was delicious. The service and the food quality was top class special mention to Gloria. Looking forward to our next stay.

I booked a 3 night stay for our 35th wedding anniversary and 60th birthday which i told them about beforehand. On arrival we had a card wishing us a Happy Anniversary. I was disappointed that a 5 star hotel didn't even offer us a complimentary glass of champagne or chocolates. We stayed during the heatwave and i asked for a fan for our room, to which i was told she would look into it and get back to me and even offered me her personal fan. I never had a call back. The room was nice but very hot. The Spice restaurant was very good and the staff were very friendly but i would not give it 5 stars.

WOW! That was our first reaction when we walked into our spa lodge- Hardknott. It is gorgeous. What a view of a natural lake out of the floor to ceiling windows. It was just like a painting. Loved all the features of hot tub , Sauna and lounge chairs overlooking our lake. It set the scene for a unique holiday - 4 nights in the most stunning weather and scenery. Visited the Drunken Duck, Pinch Bowl Inn and Wild Boar pubs for beautiful food and lunch on the terrace overlooking Lake Windermere at Langdale Chase Hotel. The Gilpin has such a relaxed atmosphere from the comfy sofas in the lounge to the wonderful staff who genuinely brought fun and laughter. The spa is bigger than it looks and lovely seating areas with surrounding views. Thank you for a perfect holiday!
