酒店房間很小，不像國內酒店一樣，性價比很差，兩個白人女前台有種族歧視，房間似乎有監控，衹要房間白天有第三人出現就會很快來電話叫我們讓第三人退出房間！

就是比較好的民宿，説實話欣賞不來。 一個樓裏一間房，樓下是餐廳。

羅萊夏朵的酒店，但是定的時候衹有這個房間了，沒想到這麼小，有條件的還是定大點的吧，住着舒服，酒店樓下有米其林餐廳。

We were in the area scouting hotels for a visit Autumn/Winter this year. Had a quick tour and relaxed with a coffee in the very comfortable lounge. My wife and I have travelled extensively, all around the globe, and we pay close attention to how the staff deal with customers. We met Grace and if we had a Hotel - we would employ her. Excellent customer service skills. We are planning a visit for November/December as a result of our experience. Keep doing what you’re doing because it works !

We had a five night stay here in June 2025, in a “garden suite” room called Haystacks. Gilpin Lodge is a couple of miles from Lake Windermere and its thirty rooms are spread out over a hillside, with pretty gardens and a paddock with alpacas, llamas and a trio of pet pigs. The Haystack room is in a small block of half a dozen rooms, each with a little terrace and hot tub and a shared sauna. The room was large with a particularly big bathroom, with a walk in shower as well as separate bath. There was WiFi which I measured at 37 Mbps download and 40 Mbps upload, perfectly adequate for normal usage. By the way, there is a separate accommodation called the Lake House, 2km away and with eight bedrooms, its own dedicated swimming pool and a lake set in a hundred acres of grounds. The main hotel has two restaurants: Spice is a pan Asian casual restaurant set in a stone building on the hillside, and Source is a Michelin starred restaurant in the main building. Source doubles in the morning as the breakfast venue. Breakfasts are made to order and were very good, featuring for example exceptionally high quality sausages. The staff that we encountered were lovely, helpful and friendly. If you have mobility issues then bear in mind that the hotel buildings are spread out and on a slope, but there is a hotel buggy service offered to whisk you between your room and the main buildings. All the staff were excellent, but Charlotte in particular was superb.

I can honestly say that the service at this hotel is one of the best experiences I have had. I travel a lot and stay in some fabulous places, but the staff in this hotel are second-to-none. The people at both restaurants were attentive and efficient with a perfect balance of timing and service and the rest of the people I spoke to from reception staff to bar staff to the people in the spa, the drivers and the grounds men - all of them were super helpful, friendly and couldn't do enough for me. Special thanks to Dave and Dug who took care of me, and to Conor for our Strawberry Moon search mission! Well done everyone - I will absolutely be back!

Great stay at the Gilpin Hotel - the staff were lovely, helpful and friendly. The bed had a deep mattress and was very comfortable. The walk-in shower had a strong flow of water, and there were lots of fluffy towels on a heated rail. There was a hot tub in our small private garden, which we didn't use. The food at Source and Spice was excellent. Staff will give you a lift in the hotel buggy if you're unable to manage the steep hillside paths. My only negative comments: please throw out or re-upholster the worn red armchair at the back of the bar and please please get rid of the awful 'muzac' cover versions constantly playing in the Source rooms, lounge and bar (I have no idea how the staff tolerate it).

From the moment we arrived at the Gilpin Hotel, we knew we were in for something special but we never could have anticipated just how incredible our stay would be. A huge thank you to Emma at reception for the warmest of welcomes and for the welcome call just before we arrived, to Rob for looking after us so attentively, and to Tom, the Maltese manager, whose hospitality was second to none. We were staying there because we were doing the Ultra Challenge, and the entire team made sure we were not only looked after but truly pampered. Nothing was too much trouble, and they made us feel genuinely special throughout our time there. We also had the pleasure of dining at Gilpin Spice, and the food was absolutely outstanding a real highlight of the trip. Every dish was packed with flavour and beautifully presented; a true culinary treat that we won’t soon forget. The spa facilities were just the cherry on top, a perfect place to unwind and recover after the challenge. We honestly couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making our stay so memorable. We would not hesitate for a second to recommend the Gilpin Hotel and all of its incredible staff. We can’t wait to return.

I honestly don't know where to start. We stayed in one of the lodge suites for our mini moon and it was honestly perfect. Every touch was thought of and the suite itself was impeccable. The service in the restaurants was like none I have experienced before and were extremely attentive and friendly. We ate in Gilpin Spice and Source and the food was out of this world. A massive shout out to Harry and Chanel who looked after us in the Source restaurant, they were both lovely and Chanels knowledge on wines was incredible. Hoping to be back for our first anniversary!! Definitely recommened the scallop lasagne - incredible!!

We were treated to a stay at The Gilpin Hotel by our son-in-law for being overworked grandparents (which is the best job in the world). Our stay there was exceptional. All staff were very welcoming and friendly but the lovely Grace was truly amazing, making us feel very comfortable and relaxed immediately. We were upgraded to a junior suite, which was fantastic. We had our own west facing hot tub, so perfect for relaxing and watching the evening sunset. We had the 10 course taster and wine pairing in Source restaurant, which was exceptional. Every course was a taste explosion and each wine a perfect match. The waiter and sommelier were very friendly and knowledgeable. Breakfast was delicious with all options covered. Overall a perfect stay. One of the best hotels we have stayed in.

We were fortunate enough to stay at the Lake House during the amazing May weather. The hotel is in beautiful setting and is lavishly furnished and scrupulously clean. We ate at both Source and at Spice during our stay and both restaurant offerings were outstanding.My wife had a treatment at the spa wich she thought was excellent. In general the service was very good. However our less than 5-star review score is due to the disappointing service in maintaining our room. Used items were not replaced, having to wait for our room to be serviced after having agreed we would be out all morning. We noted the very small staff contingent were all multi tasking and seemed to not communicate well with each other - and this it seems at a time when two of the main rooms were not in use.

Wonderful Hotel in the middle of The Lake District. From initial greeting to departure, the service was friendly and professional. Upgraded room which included a hot tub was beautifully presented. Dining room experience was excellent as was breakfast. The alternative restaurant ( Spice) was atmospheric with a delicious choice of food.

What a fabulous experience. We went with another couple to celebrate a big birthday and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. We have been lucky enough to have eaten at some outstanding restaurants over the years and both Spice and Source are right up there. Both absolutely incredible. The tasting menu at Source blew us away - what a huge talent Kevin Scanlan the head chef is. Sensational food to rival the absolute best there is but in a very unstuffy lovely atmosphere. Final shout out to the staff - all the absolute best who all seemed genuinely thrilled to be there which is no mean feat. Grace being the ultimate cherry on a really outstanding cake!! We will be back - as soon as possible!!
