It was a perfect setting for a couple. Nice service, excellent restaurant. Breakfast was exceptionally good.

This was the most amazing hotel location for a stay in Split. You walk out your door and you’re in the Plaza. I have to say Luca and Mario went above and beyond making our trip extra special from a historical tour, to an amazing freshly made breakfast every morning and helping navigate all our adventures. I can’t wait to recommend this place to all my friends and family.

We chose to stay at Makarun because of my friends’ recommendation! Now that we also stayed fir 2 nights, we can’t recommend this place enough! The hosts - Mario and Luka- are great guys and they do everything they can to make the experience unforgettable! A walk tour is also included and I’d say you may confidently skip those walk tour via getaguide etc

If there is a rating more than 5 star, we will give it for sure..we’ve been everywhere but didnt care to leave a review until now. Location was great, but same as the other places. But the service, just wow! We almost want to stay longer in Split because of the service. And we definitely wanted to come back because of them. I hesitated to book because of the lower number of review, but dont hesitate please..they treat you like your really special..please dont hesitate..BOOK IT NOW!

Mario and Luka were very welcoming. I got a 1.5 hr visit of the town by Mario and I enjoy it.

Overall stay was just amazing, location one of the best in Split. Best was the service from Makarun team especially from Luka and Mario, they were just more than amazing hosts. Breakfast was great with everyday. Room was super clean and we felt like fully attended all the time!

Staying in Makarun was awesome! We stayed for only one night, but the owners of the hotel were super friendly even before our arrival. The hotel is located in the old city, very close to the Diocletian Palace, so it's a pedestrian area. They asked us to let them know when we would arrive so they could help with our bags. Then they provided us an overview of what to do by ourselves in the city and excellent recomendations on restaurants. Next day we had an amazing breakfast, when they accomodated all our requests. Finally, after breakfast, Mario (one of the owners) took us and a few other guests for a tour in the Diocletian Palace for over 1,5h that I'm sure is on par with any tour we could get. They really go beyond anything you expect in a boutique hotel.
