Great hotel

Our planned two-week stay at the Cortsland Hotel in Antigua turned into an unforgettable experience that exceeded all expectations. From the moment our group of 11 arrived from the UK, we were warmly welcomed with hospitality that set the tone for the entire stay. To our delightful surprise, some aspects of our booking were upgraded, adding an extra layer of comfort and privacy that we truly appreciated. Throughout our stay, Hazel, the owner of the Cortsland Hotel, went above and beyond to ensure that every guest felt valued and cared for. Breakfast, prepared and served by the lovely Cynthia each morning, was a highlight, setting us up for wonderful days ahead. The reception area and lounge were elegantly designed, providing a relaxing atmosphere, with easy access to the refreshing swimming pool.We all had a fantastic time and highly recommend the Cortsland Hotel for an unforgettable experience in Antigua!

Rooms are spacious, amenities are mostly provided. No cups spoons, paper towels. The cost of a meal is very high and ordering is complicated

My son and I had a wonderful time. We arrived on Christmas Day but had no idea the outside dining options were very limited. The staff accommodated us with lunch and dinner and breakfast the next morning. They also assisted with booking our morning tour. We are thankful for everyone at Cortsland for making our holiday a joyous experience.

Proximity to Cedar Valley and the courteous staff. The menu is limited and the need to have a 3 hour notice for food is an inconvenience Rooms are missing simple necessities such as bottle openers, the availability of pepper sauce with food etc

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Facilities are a bit dated but well kept. Cold AC in bedrooms, beer and wine available on site but no dining within walking distance.

There were six of us in my group, children 9, 14, 15; we arrived on a Sunday and had a few 29" suitcases, the receptionist was abrupt even with us checking in, pretty much saying "I need passports for everyone" nothing much before and nothing much after. I felt she didn't want to work on a Sunday. The room was on the second floor, approximately 12-14 steps going up, the receptionist is the same person who took us to our room, she was all the way at the top of the steps when I had to call to her and ask her if there was an elevator or someone to help take the bags up, she said "no, no one is working", and that there were no rooms on the first floor. I said we have a lot of bags, that's when she came back down to take my handbag, which is the only item she carried up, never thinking of any options. ROOMS: the set up is one space with a common/shared living room & kitchen, then two rooms (one with two beds and one with three beds). Our room had 3 beds, 1 squeaked loudly, the windows wouldn't close, one of the windows was cracked, on the last day I saw that one of our pillows was rolled up foam padding (similar to what is in a cushion) and the pillow was torn he beds only had the top sheet (no bed cover). the grounds are beautiful, the pool is nice, nothing is really walkable, the beach requires a taxi. Perfect if you don't want to do much and/or don't have high expectations. one of the sliding doors is accessible to outside and was a struggle to lock, common space was stifling

The property is generally clean and well serviced. However some more amenities such as coffee and cream should be provided, including bottled water. I would recommend the property to others. Nice quiet place.

Well located hotel for anyone not wanting a beach holiday - ideal for business, sports tours and transit. The rooms are comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. There is wifi but may be variable in certain locations. Room options are with a balcony or with a kitchenette. Beautiful garden setting. Secure and peaceful. Easy access to Airport (15 mins taxi, USD 20 or ECD 54), St. Johns' (walk 20 mins to Redcliffe Quay, 15-20 mins taxi (ECD 20) depending on traffic), Woods Centre (10 minutes walk, 5 minutes taxi (ECD15)), Village Walk 15 minutes walk, 5 minutes taxi (ECD15)), Antigua North 5 minute walk through the back gate (ask for it to be opened). Meals at the hotel need to be pre-booked, but plenty of nearby restaurants, all walk-able, and recommended include Papa Zouks (seafood and rum) (5 minutes), House of Bo (Philippino run Asian/ Chinese/ sushi) adjacent to Woods Centre. Spices of India/ Roadrunner Pizza (both takeaway but there are seats to 'eat in' at Village Walk. Bellas cafe at Village Walk. Within 10 minutes taxi ride are numerous other restaurants. Small supermarkets are nearby, Epicurian (less than 10 minutes taxi) and also two supermarkets at Woods Centre. I stayed at Cortsland several times for 6 week spells between September 2021 and June 2023. I would recommend it as the most pleasant place to stay as a base if working in St. Johns.
