Second visit to Summerwood. Again cannot fault it. Fiona is a perfect host, breakfast is one of the best we have ever had. Rooms again pristine and communal areas, garden and pool immaculate. Will definitely be visiting again when we are next in Stellenbosch.

A really super guest house with great rooms and garden. Fiona the host was very helpful and very present. The breakfasts as mentioned in the title were excellent particularly the avocado and poached eggs special! The guest house is very generous with tea coffee and treats available throughout the day as well as Nespresso machines in the rooms too and fridge. Easy walking distance into town and we hopped in an uber home in the evenings. A great stay in Stellenbosch, take Fiona’s tips on restaurants and book early before you come and stay.

Liked · This was a good stay, in particular because Fiona, the proprietor was so very kind and helpful. She went out of her way to make sure that we had everything we needed. She had little things on hand like chargers for those of us who forgot our adaptors. She offered other rooms if we had wanted them but we were happy with what we had. Everything was beautifully clean.

Summerwood was a fantastic escape in Stellenbosch. It was a serene property and the rooms were clean and comfortable. It’s about a 15-20 minute walk to the center of town through the university area. The breakfast was perfect and Fiona was so kind and helpful. I would definitely go back!

Summerwood is a lovely guest house with beautifully proportioned and decorated bedrooms, a cosy, comfortable lounge with complementary drinks and snacks, a lovely bright dining room and delicious breakfast. We loved Summerwood Guest House. We have been traveling South Africa for one month and stayed in many places and Summerwood has been one of our favorites and has a nice homey feel. Breakfast is not self serve but has a wonderful menu with many options . The granola with yogurt and fruit is so good. The staff are very friendly. There is an honor beverage refrigerator with price list. Baked goods every afternoon with a coffees and tea. Many loungers around the pool, a good place to have a glass of wine. Stellenbosch is an easy walk up the road but Ubers are easy to get. Lonely Planet Travel book recommended Summerwood and I couldn’t agree with them more. Fiona the owner is very warm and friendly and we can see she has attention to the details with managing her guest house. We would highly recommend staying here.

This guest house is highly recommended. Nice rooms, big nice garden with pool. Free hire bikes. Coffee and snacks 24/7. If you fancy some wine there is an honesty bar. Safe and nice neighbourhood. Great breakfast and last but not least a very nice host. We will definitely come back.

Summerwood Guest House is a wonderful place to stay! The rooms are lovely and comfortable, the setting is relaxing with beautiful gardens to look out on, but my favorite was the incredible breakfast we had every morning. Fiona, your host, will help with arrangements for your stay and trip. There is the finest attention to detail on every aspect of your stay! My only regret is I don’t live closer to go more often. You won’t be disappointed with a stay at Summerwood G.H.

This was the third time I have stayed at Summerwood and I will definitely be returning again in the future. Fiona and Paulet are the friendliest, most welcoming and amazing hosts. The bedrooms are tastefully decorated and furnished, the beds are probably the most comfortable I have ever slept in and the bed linen is high quality. The bathrooms are exceptionally clean with very good quality towels. The whole place is beautifully kept and so clean you cannot fault anything. The breakfast is carefully and thoughtfully prepared with quality ingredients and extremely tasty. The service is second to none and I would wholeheartedly recommend Summerwood to anyone. This time I visited with a group of family members and they were also impressed by the standards and we all had a wonderfully relaxing stay. Thank you once again Fiona and Paulet.

In the past years We have visited a lot of b&b’s, Summerwood is without any doubt in our top 3. This is place is so nice decorated, very clean, the rooms are spacious and complete, the breakfast is top, very well located and last but not least the staff and Fiona are always very friendly and customer focused (always available for advice and a chat). If we come to Stellenbosch again, 100% it will be Summerwood (if available😉)

Our stay was absolutely amazing. The guest house is beautiful. The rooms are very clean and well equipped, with such attention to detail. Breakfast is delicious and thoughtfully prepared. Fiona, who runs the guest house, is very welcoming and made us feel right at home. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend staying here!

We really enjoyed our time at the Summerwood Guest House. We have been at many Guest Houses and AirBnB at our time in SA, but this was definately the best. It felt like coming home with modern, comfortable and super clean rooms, cosy lobby, great breakfast and a relaxing garden and pool area. Fiona is an absolute Angel, making us feel so welcomed as friends and took great care of all questions and requests. Can definately recommend as 10/10 stay!

I have been guest for so many times and for all the years it was a pleasure to stay at Summerwood hotel. Garden, pool, breakfast und the wunderful management is super good ! The hotel is situated in a very nice and silent area of Stellenbosch. I look forward to the next time.

What an amazing place to stay! We stopped here for one night on our whirlwind trip along the Garden Route. It's a beautiful building with very well appointed rooms. The rooms come fully equipped and have lovely ensuite bathrooms. Fiona was really friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. It's on a quiet street with a pleasant (and safe) c20m stroll into central Stellenbosch. The swimming pool looked great, but alas we never had time to try it out. We would thoroughly recommend it!
