The Lowell Inn is a lovely 1927 hotel, charming in every detail. Second time we've stayed here, and we'll be back again. Each room is different, so you'll find a style/period you love (this time we picked a more-or-less rococo style suite).
The front-desk personnel were friendly and genuine, and breakfast the next morning was excellent (thick toast, homemade jam, fluffy eggs, monster slices of bacon).
Be warned that there's no convenient elevator (you have to go to the city parking garage to find one — that works, but it's a bit of a walk.
There are quite a few charming places to stay in and around Stillwater, but this will be our home whenever we visit.
