I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Oakwood in Suzhou, located right by the picturesque Dushu Lake. The location is fantastic - the lake makes for a beautiful and peaceful setting. The hotel itself is quite good. I found it to be nice and quiet, which allowed me to relax and get a restful night's sleep. The rooms are comfortable and well-appointed. Service and amenities are solid. The staff are friendly and accommodating. While perhaps not the absolute height of luxury, the Oakwood provides everything you need for a pleasant stay. Overall, I rate this hotel an 8 out of 10. It's a very good choice if you're looking for a nice place to stay in the Dushu Lake area of Suzhou. The tranquil location and quality of the hotel make it easy for me to recommend the Oakwood.

Good location with lovely views. Staff were helpful and friendly.

Electricity were out but the staff are able to change our room pretty fast.

The surrounding area mostly has local food restaurants. If you want a wider selection, go to the Times Square area or Suzhou Center. The view is amazing and great if you want to jog or stroll around the lake.

Was a great hotel bit far from transport having a car is advised or you can get a taxi Breakfast was really good The weather was not too good but we were prepared

A decent hotel, which was very clean (most of the time, cleanness at Chinese hotel establishments is a problem, even in the case of high-end hotels) and offered proper breakfast (both Oriental and Western dishes).

Breakfast buffet was great. Only a few minutes away from the subway. The lake view is beautiful. Staff are top notch.
