Beautiful surroundings and lovely fireplace were something we really enjoyed in this place. Staff is welcoming and very helpful - she recommend a nice restaurant but also made a reservation for us .

Very friendly hosts, supporting with tips around cafe & restaurants at Jeffrey Bay. The rooms have nice views, the distance to the sea is literally one minute. The location is safe and calm Personally don´t like the energy saving lights but this is subjective taste.

We spent three wonderful nights at A Hilltop Country Retreat in Swellendam in February 2024. Absolutely delightful and comfortable accommodation, lovely pool and friendly staff, as well as being exceptionally clean and well maintained. We will stay here again and will be recommending this to all our friends in the US who are travelling along the Cape Coast/ Garden Route. Extremely good value for money

We did a very quick overnight at A Hilltop Country Retreat and when we woke up the next morning we wished we had another 2-3 nights. What a lovely place. Thank you so much, it was perfect and we'll be back again with the kids next time!

A Hilltop Country Retreat ticks all of the boxes for an excellent weekend getaway. We were very happy with everything, from the service, to the rooms. We would recommend this place to family and friends visiting the area!

Clean et spacious room with dressing, little kitchen and good bathroom Big king size bed A little bit of view on the other so we had to close the window Nice staff who explained to us the city Swellendam is not the most beautiful city but it was a stop on the garden road

we loved our short stay at Hilltop. It was the perfect location for break I. Our journey and the room / apartment more that exceeded our expectation. The room was well equipped especially the kitchen and we really appreciated the good outdoor seating area and braai facilities. Our only negative comment was that there was not much privacy from other guests when outside. But it was ok we made new acquaintances!

Excellent accommodation, lovely pool, amazing staff. 2 nights were not enough. If you are looking for self catering in the swellendam area but want a hotel feel, this is the place for you. My only gripe would be that we personally are not used to a wet room, therefore found it unusual.

For a very low budget (175 euro for 3 nights) a really nice room, bathroom, ktichen. Honest to say its not to compare withe star accommodations but lovely. Nice sitting areas near your room. Bbq option in your own garden. Nice pool with enough parasols. More than value for money
