The bungalow was very private, clean and decor was very typical Costa Rica, which we loved. We had a small porch with seating, a well-stocked kitchen area, and the bed was super comfortable. Short walk to the lovely pool, and the beach. Get ready for glorious sunsets! There are many dining options nearby, and the area is super walkable. A couple things to note: wear shoes as you walk the property. The paving is a bit uneven & can get quite hot during the day. The outdoor pathway lighting is a bit bright at night, which is great for safety & security, but can be a bit intrusive if you like to sleep in complete darkness. The staff here are the real stars, however. Ilse checks in every day, but in the least obtrusive way. She has a ton of knowledge about the area, and is more than willing to help set you up with whatever you need, or wherever you want to go. She was fabulous and so friendly. The bar & service staff were incredibly friendly & professional. Breakfast is included, and you get to eat right on the beach:) Overall an incredibly comfortable & enjoyable stay.

The entire experience from start to finish was amazing. The location is so convenient, walkable are and easy beach access. Also the staff are very attentive and took amazing care of us! The food they offer is super tasty.

Well located on a beautiful stretch of beach, but what makes the difference at Ochos Bungalows are the people. First smiles and greeting from Sue Elene, beach and bar friends Giovani, Jimmy, Gabo and Vlad, with fresh fruit cocktails and mocktails combined with friendly conversation. And checking in with you all the time is Ilse. You can't go wrong joining this family for some R&R on the beach!~

The room was very comfortable and the Ilse and Sue were very attentive hosts/concierge. I appreciated their daily check-ins ensuring our room was cleaned and ready around our schedule. Ilse also ensured we had reliable well-timed transportation. Thanks to all the team for a great stay.

We have never had a more relaxing vacation! It felt very White Lotus without any drama where everyone takes the best care of you and you feel like family at the end. Food was excellent, service off the charts and accommodations were straight out of paradise. A few feet to the pool, a few feet to the beach! Breakfast was included and was so generous that we really only needed one more meal each day! Your choice of daybeds, loungers, or cabanas wherever you would like as they say it’s ‘your home’ for the week. Thank you Vlad, Danny, Kenya, Gio, Ilse and the rest of the team for a dreamy trip!

Ocho Artisan Bungalows was fanatastic! My partner and I were there foir 3 nights, but wished we had more time! I was a bit on edge as we got there - it's on a dirt road, no lobby (just an office), and no one had ever heard of it! so I wasn't sure what we were walkiing into. But, we were immediately greeted by Ilsa and Seyu (sorry about the spelling) - who made us feel totally welcome. The bungalows are completely unique - very modern amenities, but with an airy and artistic feel - almost like a tent (but it's not). The pool area is an oasis of calm and quiet - surrounded by luscious greenery, complete with daybeads - makes for a very peaceful day in the sun. The beach and beach club are great. We had round oversized day beds reserved for us - and the staff moved umbrella's so we were in the shade. The beach is incredible - beautiful sand, big waves to play in. Along with that, there is great food and delicious drinks - and Tanya, in her cowboy hat made everything even better! This is a small place and the best part is the staff - isla took such good care of us - it was like being part of a family. We really appreciated everything that she did for us. This is not a generic hotel - so if you are looking for a standard big chain - this is not it. But, if you are looking for a small, intimate, beautiful resort with impeccible service and attention to detail - this is the place to be. Couldn't recommend it enough!

Very close to Tamarindo shops with a short walk along the beach. The property is right on the sand, which is rare, and the bungalow was spacious and comfortable. Very attentive staff and perfect location.

Staff was amazing. Very helpful, especially Isle and the restaurant staff. Place was great, beside everything for tours and restaurants. Highly recommend

Very unique place, artsy, non-corporate, delightful. Bungalows had covered porches with very comfortable outdoor furniture, including tables, couches, fans and lighting. AC worked great. Ilse and her staff are incredibly responsive and go out of their way to make this a wonderful and welcoming place. Breakfast is right on the beach but in the shade of trees and umbrellas. Walking distance (5 min) to vibrant downtown with clubs, excellent restaurants and shopping. We ate at the hotel’s small beachfront restaurant several times in additional to breakfast (which included lots of different tropical, costa to an, and American breakfast options). Wildlife is all around including monkeys, egrets, a crocodile (fenced out), and we saw an iguana in the trees.
