First time here after many visits to Tamworth and we won’t be repeating it in its current state of disarray.Very poor first impressions with debris dumped in the front garden and this continues as the building still undergoes huge refurbishment years later so bear in mind the current description on Tripadvisor refers to the previous owner and doesn’t reflect its current condition ( I was unable to suggest an edit for unknown reasons) . Our first floor room was comfy with Yorkshire Tea but as there are no catering facilities a mini fridge would be a welcome addition. Only 2 clothes hangers were provided and when looking in adjacent unoccupied rooms most had none whatsoever! WiFi did not connect after I had to message the contact number to be advised of the log in password as well as key collection which was given by a worker on arrival carrying out refurbishments to the entire ground floor. Parking is restricted with work vans coming and going and even parked overnight and no alternative is suggested nearby. These points should be pre-advised as they are with most accommodation bookings. Sleeping with the windows open it was nice to wake up to the Dawn chorus of crows but these few positives are outweighed by negative factors. From initial booking we had no name of who to contact, just a tel number and we only made contact when it was payment time when Dora told us of the family plans to make this place up to standard by the end of this year with a proposed cocktail bar but there are huge changes to be made to achieve this and I wish them well in doing so but will await hearing of this in future reviews before reconsidering staying here again.
