We stayed one night at this hotel in order to see Taxco's famous Semana Santa activities. The hotel has a perfect location very close to the center and main cathedral. The room was very clean and spacious with a nice window looking out at the street. It was downstairs from the lobby so nice and cool - we didn't need the AC most of the time, just right before bed. The front desk staff was very friendly. The next day when we checked out they securely held our luggage for us until it was time to catch our bus. They even gave us a little gift parting gift when we checked out, a Taxco keychain. It was a great stay and we'd recommend this Best Western to anyone.
Just spent two lovely nights in Taxco. The hotel was very cute, clean and comfortable. We had a junior suite and requested a view, which they were kindly able to accommodate. The views from our small balcony were incredible. The pool area was great and the restaurant at the hotel was excellent. A basic continental breakfast was included, but we opted to order additional dishes off the menu. The refrijoladas and sopes were both delicious. It is not a few minutes from the Zocalo, but the city is steep and hilly, so be prepared for that with sensible shoes. The service was friendly and helpful. It was also a perfect location for the Saturday silver Markey as if I’d equidistant from the bus station and main square/cathedral.
What a find! This hotel is absolutely incredible. It’s right directly off the main square in Taxco, so you are in the heart of the action - step out of the front door and there is the cathedral right in front of you! All the shops and restaurants you could ever want are a few steps away, including a great coffee shop right next door. However, our room was completely quiet and restful, with a stunning view right out of the window. Very clean, comfortable bed (although short for me - this is Mexico), lovely bathroom, and super helpful staff. There are a few staircases to deal with, but not sure if there is an elevator or not. One note: we walked from the bus stop (from CDMX) - there are taxis (VW Bugs), but the streets are very narrow and slow. Much easier to walk - about 15 minutes. Hotel restaurant was delicious and delightful, with lots of authentic and interesting dishes and drinks. Huge pool deck, although not much use in winter. Nice refreshing pool with towels, music, and a bar. And on top of it all, the prices were excellent!!
Excellent hotel. Couldn't have asked for a better place and location to absorb the majestic atmosphere of Taxco. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were extremely clean and comfortable. It has many patios and terraces with countless of stairs to explore the many breathtaking views. Highly recommend it. will definitely stay there on the next visit.
Find it hard to believe that in what is supposed to be an international tourist hotel none of the staff speak even a little English. When my husband became sick I came upstairs to reception to ask for a bottle of water but none of the staff could help me. Finally another staff member guessed what I needed. Later when I came for breakfast I tried to explain my husband was sick and I would like to take a bottle of water to him in our room. I was charged for this even though we had a prepaid breakfast package. One of the staff came with me to our room to get payment for the drink then the door to our room didn’t work again. It has not worked once since we arrived. Whilst my husband was inside our room being sick I had to run back to reception twice to get them to reset our door then go inside to get the cash to pay for the drink. Very disappointed in this hotel.
