ルドラクシュ、ヒマラヤのリトリート(The Rudraksh, A Himalayan Retreat)

The rudraksha is at a very peaceful location, they have provided a serene and luxurious experience deep within the mountains. It's a place to be with yourself and cherish the nature. Local grown fruits and vegetables like peaches, apricot, strawberry are just pluck and eat. They also give back to society by teaching local kids and generating employment for villagers. It's a Home.

Often when you return to a destination that fascinated you, it's underwhelming. But not the Rudraksh. It's the second time we have spent a summer month at the retreat and we were overwhelmed all over again. During our last visit in 2023, we were treated to fantastic sunrise and sunset views of Garwhal Himalyan range (from Bandarpunch to Chaukambha). This time around, the sky was filled with haze, possibly from the many small forest fires in the excessively hot summer, and there were no views. One or two thunderstorms in the distant Gangotri and Kedarnath valleys promised to clear the skies and reveal the great snow-clad peaks but no. Never mind that. The daily birding walks up to the sun-bathed meadow through quiet pine forests, the amazing pahadi recipes from the home kitchen, the loveable dogs of the retreat. Special call out to badly-needs-a-bath Daboo who accompanies you on the walks in the forest. And the wonderful hosts - Mahesh and Roopali. They are reasons we may return to The Rudraksh in October when hope to get a different experience: weather, flora and fauna. We are back in Chennai and thoroughly miss the "Rudraksh mornings" filled with the calls of Black Francolin and Great Barbets, and the noisy Red-billed Magpies (a truly beautiful bird) in surrounding forests. But possibly the best goosebumps moment was when on one quiet moonlit night we heard a lone Scop's Owl calling out somewhere in the forest uphill. It felt somehow, poignant. As if it was last bird standing in the fast disappearing Himalayan forests. It's for moments like these, we will return to Rudraksh.

Rudraksh is a home away from home. It is a truly offbeat place, untouched by commercialization. The property is extremely well maintained. The staff is really nice. They will ensure that your stay is comfortable and enjoyable. Food is also very good. Few of the dishes are from the organic farms that they maintain. It was a a truly memorable stay.

Travelled and stayed at Rudraksh with my family for 4 nights in May'24, Nestled in the hills of Tehri Garhwal district, you enter into the midst of mother nature the moment you take the turn off Kandikhal highway into the 3-4 kms ride up the hills. We reached late evening and were welcomed by the our experienced host Maheshji and his team(including Mishti and Casper, their 2 Golden retrievers). The views from the cottages are breathtaking, with an entire view of the Himalayan ranges(on a good day) .Since the resorts face east, each day you are blessed to be woken up by the gentle rays of the sun accompanied by the melodious chirping of birds. Given there are few carefully crafted one storied cottages, every little need of yours is catered to, with utmost priority. We indulged into the sumptuous variety of mouthwatering vegetarian food at offer, right from breakfast to dinner. The quality of multi cuisine food was impeccable, whether it was the local Pahari cuisine or Chinese/Italian/ North Indian or South Indian food. In between, my family and I indulged ourselves in short treks up the dry muddy paths to a nearby Shiv temple where we could have a view of the glorious sunset. My teenage son and I also completed a long 2 hour trek with Jitendra, their young yoga instructor, across 2 mountain trails( where we encountered few deer) and cutting across multiple villages where you get an opportunity to seep in their local culture. Overall, a must visit place in Uttarakhand, if you want to get away from the city and get rejuvenated at a home away from home. Must stay for at least 2-3 nights. Special thanks to Maheshji, Roopaliji, Jitendra Joshi, Rajwar Negi and his generous staff/helpers for their bar raising hospitality. They worked to make every day special including the birthday celebrations of my mother. I will definitely once again very soon.

As the name itself suggests, Rudraksh is a perfect retreat far away from the madding crowd.. We had enough of touristy places and just wanted to unwind and relax, and Rudraksh was the perfect place for it... Hats off to Mrs & Mr. Tiwari who have created an oasis of peace and tranquility... The wholesome healthy food and all the services by the ever smiling Mr.Negi and his team needs special mention. The evening walks with Mr. Joshi was enlightening and opened our senses to unknown realities of life in the mountain... Could not partake of their famed yoga session, but will surely give it a try next time....and last but not the least, cute and lovable doggies, with whom my kids had the time of their lives... Thank you...

It was a very nice stay in the Rudraksh, A Himalayan Retreat. This place is unlike other hotels in the region, quiet and very serene. The overall stay including independent cottages, home grown food, the evening treks were very nice. Recommend this Hotel/Resort!!

Nestled in the mountains, run by a family who put a great effort in ensuring that the guests are feeling comfortable and happy. The hotel is well maintained with fresh food for every meal. It's the best place in Uttarakhand if you want to be away from the daily cacophony. Can't wait to come back here again!

Amazing Stay,Wonderful Location Amazing Family Managing all the property.Staff will treat you like family and food is so delicious and fresh.They have their own organic farming that they use for food.Overall 10 out of 10 for the location property management people I have seen the Best Sunrise and Sunset view of my life.Rajwar Negi and Joshi Ji is best humble people I met . Must Visit ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thanks Rudraksh Retreat Team to make our 25th marriage anniversary day special . Absolutely stunning view and amazing service! Our stay here was incredible, the rooms have beautiful views of the Himalayas. the food is nourishing (each meal had so many options and everything was fresh and insanely delicious) and the staff is on top of everything, incredibly kind and helpful. I hope to come here again, it really is a wonderful experience.
