オテル ドゥ ラ シタデル(Hôtel de la Citadelle)

The attitude is not for this type business

No one there to check me in. There is zero signage for late check in. If it wasn’t for the sweetest French couple trying to check in at the same time, I would have never been able to figure out what to do. Definitely will have to improve on my language skills.That said it may be partly my fault but I feel like the hotel could use some help in the information department.

Lovely room with a view. Right at the edge of town with easy walk to all shops and restaurants. We already booked a return.

The hotel is easy to find. Public parking outside was very busy and as a result we parked our 2 bikes on the pavement but not sure if we just got away with it. The room has no air conditioning but a big fan. We couldn't work out how to have the fan on without the wall lights being on and didn't want the window open due to mosquitoes. The view was amazing. The ash tray on the balcony had not been emptied which made you wonder about the attention to detail. There was a strong smell of bleach when we arrived and once we had showered it was obvious why as after that there was a bad smell from the drain .The toilet was tiny and initially we thought we didn't have one. The lift is very small which isn't the end of the world but it was a case of one person with luggage or 2 people max. Staff were friendly and the bar was good. Breakfast was fine but overall not good value for money.

Fantastic location and views in a nice stone building standing literally above the river. We had superior double with view right over river to the rock. The room had no aircon but the ceiling fan worked well to keep the room cool. Room itself a bit disappointing, overall cleanliness was OK but the floor, windows and shower grout looked like it needed a good clean. Public areas of the hotel also seemed slightly grubby and unloved. Public car park right outside the hotel, which was busy and if this was full up I am not sure how easy it would be to find other parking nearby. Continental breakfast reasonably good.

A superb location with the citadel towering above and a spectacular view from our room of the rock formations across the river.

Old, low quality and dirty rooms. Staff doing their best but I couldn't recommend it to anyone and I'll never go back.

Property was ok!

I am sorry, but the shower room # 29 in our hotel room smelled very, very badly from mould. It is not a room you can rent out before you sanitize it! The answer at the reception was: This is tje smell you will find all over the town of Sisteron! Ohps!! Je suis désolé, mais la salle de douche de notre chambre # 29 d'hôtel sentait très très mal la moisissure. Ce n'est pas une chambre que vous pouvez louer avant de la désinfecter ! La réponse à la réception fut : C'est l'odeur que vous trouverez dans toute la ville de Sisteron ! Oh !
