We recently had our 3rd stay at Uga Ulagalla we were again thoroughly impressed by the exceptional welcoming and friendly service we received from all the hotel staff. From the moment we arrived, We were greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. Our room (23) was immaculate and luxurious and we really appreciated the regular little touches from the room staff The food was excellent, and plentiful and all the restaurant staff we so attentive, and helpful. We love the fact that you can see so much wildlife, such as monkeys, lizards, and so many types of birds just walking arounds the grounds and surrounding area (we were lucky enough to see owls 3 times). We really enjoyed the village cycle ride and scenic drive with picnic. Also highly recommended is the horse riding with Ramesh, who is so knowledgeable and clearly loves the horses he looks after. All the staff show dedication and excellent service in whatever role they undertake. Thanks to Kusal for driving us back and fore to our room when we decided not to use the bikes, and his assistance when Paul needed help! Others to mention are Dilrushika, Sakila, Demutu and Sakun Throughout our stay, everyone went above and beyond to make us feel welcome like returning friends. It was evident that the staff genuinely cared about the comfort and satisfaction of their guests. Eager to help with any queries they may encounter. Overall, our experience at Uga Ugalla was nothing short of extraordinary. The combination of luxurious accommodations, exceptional dining, and unparalleled service made for another truly unforgettable stay. We can't wait to return for a fourth time and create more memories at this wonderful hotel.

Uga Ulagala takes wonderful Sri Lankan hospitality to a whole new level. The rooms are definitely in the top five of any hotel room you will enjoy in Sri Lanka. Spacious as can be. The monkeys who greeted us outside our room were an added touch ❤️ Great food as well. I highly recommend the authentic Sri Lankan dining experience.

Perfect luxury boutique property in the most peaceful location. Fantastic rooms, food and service. Great to be able to use bikes to get around. We took part in the cookery demonstration which was great fun. Great to meet Katharina in the Elephant Research Centre and find out about the local Elephants and wildlife in the area as well as the really important sustainability measures used and how this hotel works closely with the local families too. We also did the village cycle ride and scenic drive around Nachchaduwa, topped off with sundowners over the lake - fantastic memories made. A perfect stay - thank you.

Ulagalla is set in stunning gardens and jungle. We loved taking our bicycles out and about. So much wildlife - monkeys, peacocks, even elephants occasionally. So much to do - horse riding, kayaking - and also visits to Sigiriya (we climbed the rock and returned for breakfast) and Anaradapura to visit temples. Loved it and so happy we stayed here. Kamatha is also a must - a feast of Sri Lankan curries. The rooms and large with private pools (sometimes shared with the monkeys).

Truly beautiful place. Scenic Jeep drive and picnic through the local paddy fields with Sakun is a must. Supun and Ruwan were the loveliest waiters. Food was outstanding, particularly the Kamatha dinner. The skill and hard work of chef Diluka and Marni was much appreciated. All the staff were the loveliest people. We will always remember our stay.

Our stay at Uga Ulagalla in Sri Lanka was absolutely fantastic! The staff was incredibly hospitable, the facilities were luxurious, and the natural surroundings were breathtaking. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and rejuvenating getaway.

We stayed 2 nights and left wanting to stay at least 2-3 more as this resort has so much to offer. Amazing a**osphere , villas, staff, pool, restaurant, and activities. We stayed in a pool villa, it’s as big as a house but feels homely & you don’t know anyone else is around. Bikes to ride around the estate or ask for a buggy and it’s there in no time. Imagine our surprise when we went for a Balinese massage and the masseuses were both from Ubud the massage capital of Bali and we weren’t disappointed. The team here are all amazing but a special call out to the restaurant manager who remembered the wine we had and had it on ice for us the next nite.
