ホテル リストランテ グラヴィジェチ(Hotel Glavjc)

Stayed on 2 occassions back in the 1990's so on a recent road trip to central Italy decided again to go back. Pretty much un-changed, yes dated by todays standards but very clean. Found the parking to be not as difficult as I remembered but can see some people would struggle. Food in the Restaurant is very good being freshly cooked, although service is slow due to it's popularity with both visitors and locals alike. All in al,l for the money it is good value, stay in Como and you would pay triple. Have booked again for 2 stays in Spring 2024

The proximity to the town of Como and other points of interest on Lago di Como were great. We had an amazing view of the lake from the balcony of our room, which was unexpected. My only complaint would be that the mattresses were past their prime.

Just don't go here! We arrived and were faced with the steep parking area. On entry into the hotel it is very dark and drab and the corridors reeked of smoke. We went up to the room which was very basic and apart from the great view the rooms furnishings were basic and more akin to an army dormitory than a hotel. We went down and asked how to get down to the lake (since on one site a private beach is alluded to) were told to follow the path at back of hotel. It does not lead down to the lake. We asked at front desk again and were told that there was no beach (the website stating such is incorrect). My wife, granddaughter and I rapidly decided we needed to find another place to stay since the hotel was nowhere near what was advertised and is certainly not worthy of 3 stars. The front desk lady was quite angry that we were leaving but we accepted that we had to pay the rate for one night and gladly paid it to leave the hotel and find somewhere else. We went on an excursion the next day and the guide asked where we were staying in Torno and we conveyed that we had found the hotel poor and had moved, he quickly responded without any prompting from us "Hotel G.L.A.V.J.C" and said he had heard similar reactions before! The place has a local reputation of not being as good as people expect!!

The location of the hotel is great - right on the lake in Torno. However, the service we got wasn’t satisfactory and the food took a long time to arrive one night. Overall I would say it was an average experience.

5 star views, 5 star restaurant and service. Retro Deco - If you like 70s tiling this is the place for you! We loved it. Great location to walk into Torno and get the boat for Como or north on the Lke.

We revisited this hotel after 15 years.Our visit back did not disappoint us.We dined in the restaurant each evening,food was suberb as usual.Staff amazing,especially Alex and Gabriella.The view from our balcony was amazing of the lake.Breakfast good too.Would high recommend staying here.
