Welcoming - spotlessly clean - excellent breakfast. Perfect location and one of the nicest places we’ve stayed. The spacious outdoor space is just perfect for relaxing. Our room was very comfortable with a lovely sea view. We would have no hesitation in recommending The Charterhouse.

Lisa is an excellent host. Christophe serves the most delicious breakfasts and there is plenty of choice. The house is simply gorgeous and the room was spotlessly clean with more than enough amenities and supplies. The location is excellent and we were very sorry to leave xx

It should be a 5 star for this place. Lisa was very friendly from the first time we saw her. The room was very comfortable and very clean. The breakfast was out of this world 10/10 very tasty. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is staying in torquay. We both look forward to going back this year..

Great location within a few minutes walk of the sea. The room and bathroom were fantastic with a great view. The breakfast was lovely and the hosts could not have been more accommodating. I whole heartedly recommend the Charterhouse and will book again soon. Great place with great people.

We had a lovely stay at The Charterhouse. Lisa and Christophe were very welcoming and the room was lovely with a view of the sea. The bed was very comfortable, had a great night sleep. Breakfasts were freshly cooked and very tasty. We enjoyed the walk into Cockington Village and also into Torquay centre. Great location and would recommend and cannot wait to visit again.

What a place to find we only booked one night but wished we had booked another, it was brilliant, very clean, room a good size, breakfast was superb. The bed was so comfy everything you wanted for a brilliant stay. It was home from home. Would recommend.

My husband and I returned yesterday having spent two nights at The Charterhouse. We have never stayed in such a lovely guest house. Everything was excellent, accommodation, cleanliness, facilities, amazing breakfast and a great location. Lisa and Christophe are the most friendly of Landlords, nothing being too much trouble. The guest house is just a few minutes from the main rd which runs along the seafront. The number 12 bus runs every 10mins which takes you in to the centre of Torquay and the opposite way to Paignton and Brixham. I recommend you take the 20-25min walk from Charterhouse to Cockington village. A pretty village with the most amazing country park. Thank you Lisa and Christophe for your hospitality.

Warm friendly welcome and nothing, throughout our stay was too much trouble. The room was very spacious and very comfortable and had everything we could have wanted. Breakfasts were always hot when they arrived at the table as they were cooked to order. Couldn't fault this guest house, excellent!

All lovely. Clean and attractive accommodation, pretty garden, great location, tasty breakfast, kind hosts, comfortable and well equipped. Comfortable bed, quality sheets and towels, well stocked tray.
