I have only positive things to say about the Victoria Letterario, even after the shock during the check in. Upon arrival for check in, the reception staff told me that my booking was cancelled! I showed them the communication of trip.com 3 days earlier confirming my booking, which their system has not registered. Jorge, the concierge, was very apologetic and offered me the only room available that day which I accepted, while he will get in touch with the intermediary to find out what went wrong. It appears that trip.com and similar platforms purchase the beds in great numbers from a company hotelbeds.com- I went to my room and I came down with my iPad and I and Jorge got in touch with Trip.com via my account. Trip.com replied immediately, confirming my booking and promising that they will get in touch with hotelbeds.com. As it was already 7pm, Trip.com did no manage to get through the staff at hotelbeds. Trip.com advice that if hotelbeds.com did no reply or confirm the booking then I'll have to pay and Trip.com will refund me right away. I was happy with that. I stayed the 2 nights in the hotel, and only the morning of the day I checked out the hotel Victoria Letterario received finally the confirmation of the booking from hotelbeds. Trip.com was every effective in dealing with the issue and I'll use them again and Jorge, at the Victoria Letteriario dealt with the issue very professionally all they way through, so did the manager of the hotel too.
Trieste is a small city, and you can walk from the hotel to the major landmarks in 20 minutes. I loved the decoration of the rooms, the bathroom was spacious and the bed very comfortable. The TV channels were all in Italian but I don't care much about the telly when I travel. I enjoyed the buffet breakfast, it has everything that a good hotel breakfast should have and more, namely its attentive staff. A five stars stay!!!
Palace is classic early 1900 architecture and luxury feeling, historic art and beauty accompanied us to the breakfast hall, while room was contemporary and convenient, services recently renewed, the hotel is located in the historic centre of the elegant Port City, car valet service very useful, in 10/15 minutes walking you can reach museums and best cafe’ restaurants
So glad I stayed here. It’s amazing inside and the staff (well most of them) are lovely too! Arrived during a national train strike so was stressed and just grateful to have arrived. My check in was great, the guy was friendly and informative. Escorted me to my room which was modern and he showed me how everything worked. Only thing I was disappointed in is there are no safes in the room - that can be so easily rectified. Didn’t have breakfast but I did bring a friend back for a drink in the evening only to be met by a miserable member of staff who so did not want to serve us drinks and when we insisted he made the cocktail with one small piece of ice! When I asked for more he gave me another small piece! Ridiculous! We weren’t the only ones to receive his misery! A group of 4/5 came in after us and were told they could take the drinks to their room! They were just as surprised as us with his rudeness. Anyway I haven’t detracted any points from this review because I spoke with the owner in the morning and she was lovely and apologised profusely. None of it was her doing but she was mortified and assured me she would deal with it which I trust she did. Would definitely return if in Trieste again 👍
Loved this apartment - amazing location in the centre near to lots of great bars and restaurants, walking distance to everything yet also really chilled. Eqsy to check in and out. Great size for two, kitchen well equipped for cooking and comfortable bed. Do take ear plugs if you are a light sleeper as air con is very loud and it's easy to hear movement in other apartments but on the plus can hear very few noises from outside.
Gutes, sauberes Hotel, zentrumsnah, neben Bahnhof und man ist auch mit dem Auto schnell außerhalb der Stadt. Frühstück top, 9,50€ extra zahlen sich aus.
We stayed here for a week in June for a friend’s wedding nearby. Great location on the sea front. The location is a few miles outside of Trieste so a taxi is needed to and from the city. Better to have a hire car: the hotel has plenty of parking. The breakfast is well managed and a great choice of delicious food served in the lovely restaurant. We had dinner there once; the food was good. Our room had a balcony with great views, though there is often a lot of traffic and noise from cars and motorcycles. But lovely sea views. The room service and cleaning was quick, unobtrusive and immaculate every time, so a big thank you to housekeeping. Reception team are stars. They coped well with everything we asked (in English as we hardly speak any Italian) and were super helpful, even recovering my mobile phone which I stupidly left in a taxi. Also, every morning the reception and dining room team welcomed us with smiles and greetings. A great hotel, I’d be happy to recommend and to stay here again.
4.5⭐️ Marta was awesome!! This is a very nice hostel on the 3rd floor of an old building right along the port boardwalk. Big common area, full kitchen, and breakfast included, but prepared to hike up some steps! Very prime location, especially if you are interested in taking the ferry to Muggia for a beach day (the departure point is a 3 minute walk from the hostel). The 12-bed mixed dormitory is the way to go because it has many windows and is a very spacious sleeping room. However, if a summer storm rolls in, the staff will have to shutter all of the windows and there is no AC, so it can get very warm at night. Definitely pack ear plugs and an eye mask because the city wakes up around 7am which is very audible when the windows are open.
Fantastic experience at this hotel. Excellent pre-arrival communication; room was immaculate and spacious; bed was comfortable; the reception was great; the food was very good and featured French, Greek, and Italian offerings. I would absolutely stay here again!
CCuriosity54976015252You can check in at certain time, I was arriving 1 hour later and I had to call them. It was difficult to communicate with the person. I had to send them information at theis website in Italian using translator. They never replied, one day before arrival, I had an Italian guy to call them to see how to get in, they answered that they will wait for me. Good thing is at the common WC they provide antiseptic to clean it.
Close to the train station! Walking distance to the town center, bustling canal area and hop on hop off bus origination stop. Very friendly staff.Adequate breakfast. Functional room size. Great fluffy towels and well lit room . A bargain for $108 euro a night!
