Wonderful peaceful guesthouse in a great location. Super rooms overlooking pool and garden within easy walk of the ocean and resort centre. Lovely friendly hosts who make you feel at home and are ready to help you with your travel plans. Tasty plentiful breakfast. We are coming back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Anchors Rest. Our bedroom was beautifully clean and thoughtfully equipped. The gardens and pool area are well maintained and a pleasure to use. The location is great – quiet but within easy walking distance to the beach, shops, restaurants and bars. A good breakfast sets you up for the day! The owners are excellent hosts with years of experience who go the extra mile ensure your stay in a good one.

Love this place. Its our third visit and the hosts really made us feel welcome. Comfortable rooms and great breakfasts. Just a short walk from the main high street and beach it could not be in a better location. Will definitely return again next year.

Most definitely the best stay we have had in the Durban/Umhlanga area. Cilla & Peter are the best hosts, warm & friendly tending to our every need. Anchor's Rest is just lovely, beautiful setting, save area & close to all the restaurants. VERY comfortable beds. We enjoyed a morning walk on the beach. Best breakfast - Omelets to die for. We will definitely stay at Anchor's Rest on our next visit. Real value for money.

A very nice property with lots of character. Set in a quiet location near to shopping malls and restaurants. A family run guest house giving a warm welcome to anyone booking a break who were happy to give advice should you require it. A good selection of food available for breakfast. No more than 5 minutes from all major roads. Secure parking on site. An enjoyable stay.

We had a wonderful stay at Anchors Rest. The ambience of the guesthouse is friendly, clean, upmarket.I would stay there again anytime. Within walking distance to shops, restaurants. Beautiful setting.

Anchors Rest is an absolute pleasure. The hosts are super friendly and very helpful. Beds and pillows are absolutely fantastic. staff are very friendly and efficient. I can defiantly recommend a stay.

Anchor’ s Rest is perfectly located, walking distance to the beach promenade with the lighthouse on one side and the little Forest Cafe in the other, cozy, friendly decorated and a little bit of Italian style, felt very welcome and enjoyed the pool and the honesty bar, it was really hot, Peter took care that we have everything we need to feel comfortable, very nice to stay in walking distance to Main Street with all the restaurants, enjoyed the stay so much, thanks for recommending Alwi’ s Drift Sauvignon Blanc, was my favorite on the whole trip, thanks again for the warm welcome and all the comfort in your house, highly recommended, Thomas & Birgit
